Yer, that's what I thought, I should have asked to see it work to 100% on their glass or something.
But I'm not even kidding there was about 20 cops and VOSA guys and gals there watching this happen, so I was a bit intimidated :o
LOL, that's a good point.
That's true, I never got them tinted, I wouldn't have personally because I would have been even more annoyed if I shelled out cash to get them tinted and then had to remove them.
I just (and perhaps naively) assumed that if it goes through the MOT, I'm a ok!
Hmm, dunno if that counts, it is a clio, but not a Reno engine.
Still he proved something there, if you want big power in a clio, put in a different manufacturers engine!
Like Brian says there's a lot of know how on some coppers.
I was speaking to one last night quite in depth about cars, he has a cossie, so was quite clearly into modded cars for a start, so I certainly wouldn't take that naive risk.
Yer I'm gonna get them off, but needed to rant first lol.
Spoke to my mechanic mate, he said they quite often get galaxys in that have had it done and need removed, so he's coming round with some small blades and tar and glue remover on Saturday, looking forward to it already  :dapprove:
That does look fantastic, normally I'd laugh at those sort of spoilers but it just looks so right.
It's kind of like an VX220 Exige model, if that makes sense!
Got pulled by the fuzz last night, woohoo, first time ever in 8 years.
Got a producer, ok that's fine.
Then was escorted to the back of the police depo for VOSA to do testing, basically test the window tints.
I've had the car 2 weeks, and it went through it's MOT with flying colours on...
I doubt you'd see many 172s at Reno dealers these days, most dealerships don't want to deal with cars more than 3 yrs old.
Buy private and if you can buy one off here and then you'll know it's history and if it's been looked after.
And personally get a Cup!
That's a JDM then mate!
Rare as rocking horse s**t, quite literally.
Doesn't live near Bedford does he, they guy I bought my CTR from was selling it to upgrade to a JDM CTR in CW.
Plus fitting, which makes it about a grand.
Theres a guy I think it's ozzy that's on here sometimes that has LSD on his, so I'm sure he'd clear up the price.
Mines a 51 plate and is in fantastic condition, but it has been well looked after so it just depends on the car, same could be said about any car on the road.
They are certainly not cheap, not when you consider the toy list of a 182, which I could have got on a 04 plate minimum, but hey...
Nah, CTR is staying completely standard, at the end of the day I bought it as a downgrade and no matter how much I mod it, it will never be the DC5 so no point wasting the cash.
Servicing is cheaper, but yer the rest is more expensive.
They are both very good cars, and despite people saying they aren't in the same class they just are, they are hot hatches, they get lumped together and will constantly be compared because an early CTR is 182 money.
If you had 8-16k...
