    It's fine mate, the limiter is there to save the engine, I used to hit the limiter in mine quite often, never had any engine problems.

    Mine was a standard ECU, that's why I said, if his goes above 7.2k then chances are it's not standard! :o

    Check the limiter in 2nd or 3rd as well, it should be the same as fourth. When the cars warm it's 7.2k.

    I used to drive the nuts off mine, it just wanted it for some reason! I reckon I drive a lot more conservatively since moving away from my Cup.

    You usually get a free retest within seven days, but like you said, probably not worth the hassle for the amount it's gonna cost.

    They're easy enough, put chances are they'll need a refurb, maybe cheaper to try and source a brand new set.
