Cup as your first car, lucky sod, it was my third!
Lovely car to own and good luck with it :)
The gear box is a bit of let down tbh, if you're having to be harsh with it chances are it's knackered, I had to have a whole new box in mine (originally I assumed it was just a selector).
That's so s**t mate, hope it works out ok!
Is there anyway you could buy the car back off them on the cheap (with your claim money) and get it repaired yourself somewhere cheaper?
If you can stretch to it then do it, I very much doubt you'd regret it.
Like DarthCake said, you'll need more cash when it comes to service / tax / tyre replacement time, but generally you probably won't notice this.
If you do a lot of miles you'll notice a big difference in petrol!
Weight wise that sounds about right, depends if the PH1 you get has an aluminium bonnet or not as well (some do, some don't).
There's a couple of other minor difference as well, like mk2 172s have fly by wire etc.
Asda wouldn't cover me my current car (fair enough) or my Clio.
Sounds pretty cheap though, maybe try those privellage etc seeing as you have so many no claims.
Well I've never owned a FF 172, but when you drive a FF for some reason it just doesn't feel quite the same beast, it just seems well............. softer.
The Cup gives me a bigger smile, it just seems to have that 'edge' at least it did for me!
Plus the Cup looks far nicer.
Go drive both and...
I called mine yesterday about my exhuast as it's not standard (well I'm pretty damn sure it's not).
So I called them and said I think it's not standard I bought it like that, they said no problem we'll just add that to your policy and there's no charge.
Wicked :)
Makes me feel better about...
I had my old old car went into FIAT three times and they said, oh no it's fine even though I knew it wasn't.
I changed the spark plugs got some result but still not right, called out the RAC at work one day he diagnosed it as the HT leads within 1 minute.
That's why I mentioned it, dealerships...
lol ^ how true.
Serious amount of money, but make sure you get it done at BMW, then you know it will be a good job at least.
I wouldn't involve the insurance company (just yet at least) because of a possible insurance rise (as Bubbles said). Not because you are making a claim, but technically...
I'm looking for someone to make me a "stick" on number plate that's as legal as possible just plain with my reg plate.
Anyone do this, or know where I can get this done?
