OK. Following the feedback I got in the previous http://forum.cliosport.net/display_topic_threads.asp?ForumID=13&TopicID=85491Gay or Hardcore thread, I set to work on my trackday wheels over the weekend. Armed with a can of paint, some wet & dry paper, 100 metres of masking tape and a couple of...
You cant buy an off the shelf kit at the moment, but it wouldnt come in at less than about £3.5k. Hillpower will be doing one soon.
They sound amazing.
Looking at the member list Cups are still in a minority.
No wonder really they seem to be a bit accident prone ;)
There are no cars in the list claiming to be a 182 Cup.
There are different ones for the different variants of the 172. Link <A target=_blank href= "http://www.hillpower.co.uk/newclio172.htmlhere. When you give them your engine number they work out which one you need. No idea whether the Mk1 variant affects the idling.

No idea what the wire does, but many people have taken away both the air feeds and the airbox and replaced them with a Viper, so I think you can assume that you can remove this with no ill-effects.
Done quite a few at Bedford, quite a fast track (assuming its the South West circuit again). Bit boring because its flat - but very safe - nothing to run into except 1 tyre wall just before the main straight.
Have a look at...
Very tiny difference these days. Your ECU turns off the air-con if you floor the throttle by the way to make sure you dont lose that vital 1 bhp that it uses!
Would be nice to get some I think - such a pain in the @ss swapping wheels when you get to the track - even worse swapping them back at the end of the day  Sooo much easier to do it at home before the event.
Anyone tried any of these - thinking about the barely legal slicks like Yokohama A048-R, for trackdays?

Identical I believe, we bought them at about the same time. The 172 Mk2s were all the same until they introduced tc/ebd, but that wasnt until quite a bit later.
The Tar-ox pads are brilliant. I use them with the original discs and they are just amazing. There is absolutely NO brake fade. My missus went out for 10 consecutive laps at Donington Park with an instructor who was really urging her on. The brakes were literally on fire when she got back to the...
Im going to reserve judgement on my Group N ECU until Ive tried it out at York next month. Higher tickover doesnt bother me at all, so as long as I get an improvement in my times Ill be happy.
I have RenaultSport chip - it was fitted by Hillpower earlier this week. The car feels loads better, but you might want to wait until Ive tried it out for real at York Dragway next month. Ive got all my old timing slips so it should be easy to see whether it makes a real difference.
The chip...
