The Renault guide says that when a belt is removed a new 1 must be fitted! To do the cam belt you have to remove the aux belt, so a new 1 should be fitted!
Air flow meter is on the opposite side of the Inlet manifold from the map sensor iirc. Like all sensors they can easily go faulty. Prob nothing to do with the BMC imo!
Thanks Henk, great service as usual! You can disregard my email from wednesday then! If you could pm or email me when the new map has been uploaded I would really appreciate it!

Have you thought of the possibility that the engine is fine and that the Guy before you may have used the wrong oil? This would cause the hydraulic lifters to stick and car will sound like a ford?
Rope around the inlet manifold and pull? Or right round the engine! But seriously I slackening all the mounts and jacked the engine out slightly from below! Seemed to do the tick!

Mine s doing the same thing 2! Thought there was something wrong with it, but obviously it's just a s**t renault! Lol! It's ok when the weather is not so warm!
I take it you have aircon? I didn't bother with the cold air feed down to the bottom grill as there isn't enough room. I ran mine to the top grill instead!
