is it possible to convert to the sport climate control? i've a mk2 ph1 with a/c, wondering what's required to put in and use the fancy controls from the newer sports? is it a simple case of wiring and sensors, or is the whole heater assembly different? i'm not sure this is possible, but i don't...
an old thread, but it does come out and i've painted it, but it involved cutting off the heater tubes around it, hacking off the melted bits, and refixing with a plastic soldering iron, i wouldn't reccomend it, i don't think your ment to remove it!!! i only did so because i had to replace the...
super cheap! :S i actually have a 1.6 zetec s, a t reg, and a 1.4 clio si. my clio is infinitly more fun to drive, it's quicker, and i love it for all the reasons we love our clio's! the focus is however exceptionally smooth through the gears, the soft suspension feels great in terms of comfort...
Hi guys, my mk2 ph1 1.4 16v has been running terribly for a month or so now, misfireing, poping, juddering, loss of power, tho intermittently. i changed the sparks for NGK items from halfrauds which seemed to clear it up for a week.
i'm gonna take it to a friends garage 2mrw to play with, and...
i'm running 205/40/17, only slight rub round corners with ET40. deffo go for some low pros. if you've still probs hack them arches away, get some spacers, but u shouldn't need em with slimmer tyres. :)
need some definition here, is it rubbing the inside of the arch as in on the wing, ie outside of the tyre, or is it rubbing inside the arch as in the inside of the tyre on the liner/ body by the engine bay?
if the inside of the tyre is rubbing get yourself some spacers. if the outside of the...
a clip does go there, holds it in the runner, mines loose and makes a horrible noise as it comes out lol, was gonna get a new one but it's one of those things u just don't get round to...
if u find out if it's avalible seperatly let me kno, tho a whole window's only £15 on the 'bay...
:)
my 205's rub, tho they're 17's and it's lowered 60mm, i'd suggest removing the liners, hack out the bit that covers the engineon the inside, i reshaped mine with a heat gun and screwed it on to make sure it really wouldn't run, it'll stop it rubbing over bumps, and i'd check out the trader...
17cm will go in, mine are mounted on an mdf ring wich is drilled into the door where the original was, the door's then sound proofed. the door card fits over if you cut out the plastic which mounted the original speaker aside from the bits the grill fits on, grill goes over, no one can tell...
i can fully recommend alpine stuff 2 u m8, i've a full alpine setup, most of my mates are running "branded" systems (albeit cheap-ish ones), fusion, sony, mutant, jbl, and i knowed they'd all swap given half a chance!! i've an MRP-F240 4 channel and an MRP-M350 mono block, all running type r...
this is probably a bit different, but mine's earthed behind the o/s rear quarter panel, everywhere i tried in the boot was poor, it's been there now 2 years and gives a great earth, and i'm runnin 2 alpine amps, everything's amped woo! ;)
cheers guys! ditz, is that this matt black's number? if i bought a second hand hub are they all the same? could it just be easier and perhaps cheaper to just whip off the whole hub and replace with one robbed from the scrappy? or am i dreaming a clio could be that simple lol?
:)
it's the threads for two of the four wheel bolts. it's my own fault, 4got 2 tighten the bolts on the front wheel, and drove off finger tight. noticed sharpish, but 2 bolts just turned and turned, had to pry the wheel off, about a cm of the bolts and the first threads are ripped up. it's at my...
hi guys, i'm in need of a new hub as the threads on two bolt holes are totally shagged, anybody know how much these are? im guessin i'm gonna need new bearings while i'm at it 2 :(
it's a 1.4 si mk2 ph1 :)
have a look for eibach pro spacers, they're hub centric so the weight of the wheel will be on your hub not your nuts. it's like an extension of your hub rather than a cheap washer. they're not cheap but if you wanna get the best stuff for your car..
a nice looking dark blue 52 plate, 172 rear, tsw rims, couldn't quite work out what u'd done to the front, colour code and splitter? looked good tho, tsw rims, all well done and pretty subtle, but what are you planning with your dash!??!
:)
mine were £10 on the bay, filter out the buy it now chaff, and just keep checkin, there's usually set of genuine ones on there somewhere. email the seller if you aint sure. :)
yeah, cheap ones come off easy with a slightly small socket. just bash it on. but i've had some good ones with very little end to grip, we had to drill them off. 3 days, 20 hours, many titanium drill bits. then a refurb on each. ugh. i wrote the key code to my new ones on about 10 different...
cheers guys! that looks gorgeous in white chris :) i'm eyeing up the eibach hubcentric spacers, read bad things about the cheap stuff knocking around and wanna do it properly. does anyone know where to get longer locking wheel nuts from?
wanting to get some new ph2 style 1.4 badges to smarten up the car while i'm colour coding the strips. will i need the part number to order them from renault, and does anyone know what it is or how much they are?
cheers! :)
they're 17". it's lowered 60mm, which rubs something awful, was thinking of complementing some sport lines with maybe the 30mm eibach hubcentric spacers, make it a bit more usable. i believe the 172 front is 4 inches wider, so 2" per side extra to fill?
:)
Hi guys, i've finally got all the parts for my 172 front end, just waiting for my mate to get a day off to spray them. I'm wondering what size spacers i'm gonna need to fill the wide arches? who's done this, and what did you use? my car's a mk2ph1, 1.4 si.
howie :)
