try and get your garage to ring up SMC Woking and tell them to get advise from the technicians? 01483 720322 is there number. They should be able to advise your technicians id have thought, even if they have different accents. ;)
sounds like what happened to mine. Its probably your idle sensor. On your throttle body theres a black thingy with a plug going into it, take off the plug using ur fingers (not feet) and blow into the end of the plug, replace and it might solve the problem.

_KDF if they dont fix your knocking under wheelspin - tell them its the engine mount underneath the battery that is the wrong bolt or loose. When they did that on mine it seemed to fix it. Alternatively get your garage to ring SMC Renault Woking on 01483 720322 as theyve fixed a few 172s with...
Yeah, mine is rusty all over if you look closely in the sunlight after its been washed. I took it to my friendly Renault garage and they mentioned loadsa stupid things that made it my fault - do you live near a railway? itl polish out etc etc. Dicks. I think someone on here got their car...

they mean that you are not pressing the brakes to the point that theyl lock up, i.e. hardly pressing them at all - so in the wet, in a non-ABS car you wouldnt depress the brake pedal as much as you would in an ABS in an emergency or else youd skid and have to let off and then depress again...

Im not entirely sure, ill have to try and ask someone in the know. But apparently they use them? £25 a disc, but the pads they use are mega expensive at something like £120 - maybe someone in the know on here could tell us about measurements?
get some Laguna discs and those mega expensive pads that cost £120 a pair that the cup cars use. Bound to be much better. Those 282 mm discs are the biggest you can fit on a mk.1 because of the 15inch rims. You can barely fit the balancing weights on the inside of the alloys! the clearance is...
Tony - i hardly ever see any walls near to where Deers jump out from, just hedges. The point I was trying to make was that if i had been in my car and come accross that stationary vehicle then id have stopped fine, using the ABS as a safetly feature, just like if i hit a wall, using the...

I like Nicks opinion and aggree with it completely, very well put!
TB1 - what happens when a deer runs out in front of your car from a conceiled hedge when you dont have ABS and youre doing 60? heart rate jumps into the air and middle pedal is plunged - skid.
My car has ABS and my old car...

Cool! keep up the good work guys! I drove a 540i auto and they dont hang about, although im sure theyre very heavy - but do push out 286 bhp which is not to be sniffed at. If it had been you driving the 540 im sure the outcome would be a bit different.
I had a race off the lights against an...
