ed are good. we've been seeing comfortably over 190bhp and 170lb/ft torque. last one was 195bhp and 175lb/ft.
doing another that's going in on wednesday but that's on a phase 1 head so be interesting to see if there's any noticeable difference.
yup, throttle is off so no need to worry about that. i unplug injectors though. warm engine and crank a good few times until the needle just about stops moving.
those figures are bloody low but close so i'd be more tempted to say the low reading is down to the tester.
meg conversion is cheap at the mo as there are plenty of cheap donor cars around, i reckon six months or so and the cheap megs will of dried up. but the more conversions that get done the cheaper the 197/200 engines will be though.
you might be able to get away with it then as the pms is the only 'real' brace and kind of has to be used with their mounts.
suppose it comes down to the scrutineer on the day though as to whether you get way with it or not. don't want to pee on your chips though but i don't think you'll get...
i mixed the cams up when i took them out and didn't notice when i was building the head up, only spotted it when i was trying to tighten the cam cover up BUT didn't even think about the fact i'd bent any valves until i'd build it all back up and was just about to start it, reached in to turn the...
billet ally will be more than strong enough.
to keep it short an ally one, without looking at weights, is going to be to light on a road/track day car on a stock engine.
the 172/182 flywheel is light ish anyway, billet steel flywheel would be fine even for a daily but personally the only time...
belt has jumped and no compression :disrelieved:
it was coming in for cams so at least a head swap won't add much more to the bill and only about 45 minutes to the job but just seeing what heads i can find and take it from there.
it's not a 'standard' mount so no. BUT it is a standard mount as far as geometry is concerned...chances of getting away with them...slim at best sorry.
can you run a strut brace though? if you can then you may be able to get away with them for running a brace though.
the detent spring is still there.
the shifter is great to say the least. if anyone says to use the scenic one instead just laugh at them :tongueclosed:
at the new improved price of £700, mad in a way that probably saves about 30% and also with a piss poor pound he must be laughing if he sells any :tonguewink:
