All four old ones looked good to me but my Motorsport Degree doesn't qualify me for anything other than text book work.
I think the plugs were just old and my car sits around most of the time and then get's run hard. Also it has idled for hours when I used to use it for work for watching TV in...
I have a fix for this, I went through 3 cables and two throttle bodies and it still did it.
It's a Renault Design fault, due to the original cable coming from the left side of the car and being shorter, when they made the UK spec they put a longer cable on and that's the problem.
I have sprung...
It's the motor, there is a bar which moves side to side with rubber on each end.
The bar moves side to side depending on whether you are operating the front or rear. Hover the rubber gets jammed on one side. This is repairable. You need to take the motor apart and trim the rubber a little and...
It's just above the pedals inside the car.
It can be welded whist in the car is the welder is good, taking it outt is the costly part. A new part is expensive and as I remember old for new at Renaults only but I could be wrong.
I have a 1.9TDi that has been chipped, i have no idea on figures as they are all rubbish but it goes like a stink now over it's previous un-chipped state, not 50bhp though I doubt as it's not as quick as my Ph-quick by any means.
Mine started life as a 110 or 130, not sure as the log book and...
Any new set of standard brakes from a cheap motor factor will do for you once they are run in.
I run standard pads and discs on my Golf which I rag around for work and they are more than fine.
You may want to get your fluid changed at the same time as thatt will make a suitable differance to a...
Hello Brian.
Yes, the cable is always smooth when I remove it, in fact it's smooth until it's under load.
Also I know I routed it properly as I traced the oldone and have located the cable housing in the four clips in the bulkhead behind the shilding.
I'm just a little baffled to be honest...
BrianR,
I've put three cables in over the last year and they all do the same?
Am I doing something wrong? I've even changed the throttle to no avail.
Could I reroute the cable somewhere else?
T-mobile.
Flext, they have a range of great value plans and offer free weekend and evening calls on top.
If you stick with one provider for a few years you'll get the best value.
I'm with T-mobile and I get a the Flext 35 with 20% extra benifits free and I pay them £0 a month. 1000 mins a...
Am on my third cable now and still get the dreaded sticking sometimes. I have lubed this cable with grease but it hasn't helped.
I have also changed the throttle and that hasn't helped.
Is there a knack to cable routing that helps as I have followed the original route?
I can feel the...
To be honest I wasn't paying attention as it's not my car but my mate bought one a the guy who had them put one on his 330ci and swore by it, so my mate coughed up.
They really do make a difference though and you will notice it straight away.
This guy had a box of differnt fitments, I'll try...
Drove a Golf GTi with one today, cost £200.
They do work, they don't pre-emp the pedal movement.
They allow the ecu to see the pedal movement exactly and without the damping that is inbuilt into the standard pedal to wire coversion ifo if that makes sense.
In my opinion it was too sensitive...
The spot metering will meter the light from the selected focal point rather than averaging the whole frame. It can be of use if you have a black lit composition.
