Yeah Im always around!!
Saw a Cup parked behind the building where I work just at the end of the Tyne Bridge the other week. Was it you?
Havent seen that many cups to be honest, though one did pass me at the end of the Redheugh Bridge. Was that you?
There is a video that show a 172 round a track with a 172 with the 172 passing it. Also the 172 beat a CTR round the track in Autocar.
I HATE with a passion saying the above cos a feel like a nob, but you say the CTR is quicker than a 172 on paper yes but there is nothing whatsoever in it as...
There had to be an error in that test the Golf GTI 1.8T did 0-60 in 6.6 secs. Must have been chipped!! Was surprised to see the CTR get such a slating in a Japanese car mag!!!
There is nothing in it between the 2 so I dont why it wouldnt be possible just like the 172 there is no reason why a 172 wouldnt do the same.
Trouble with CTR owners is that they think their car will beat anything. Other forums including this one, Ford, Seat, Subaru etc the users feet are...
UPDATE FROM JUSTMATZ
Just to confirm the few points, Dave has answered them. (think most have been answered already)

I think youll find that every manufacturer has these problem!! Ford, Honda even BMW.....look at the number of recalls that the MINI has had :o
Where Renault falls down is Customer Service but I also know other people have exactly the same problem with other manufacturers.
We all own Renaults...
They obviously arent OE 172 mats cos they have to ordered and as I said are £130. My local dealer cant supply the mats that are in the accessories brouchure (said they were discontinued) all they could get were some horrible paisly patterned mats!!!
How much fur!! :D They arent cuddly toys ;) The pile on them is very tightly packed compared to other mats so its deceiving from that point of view
All I can say is they are better than the standard 172 mats (dont know whether you have seen them) and they are £130 to replace.
ClioSport mats by JustMatz now available.

The mats themselves are made from high quality materials, which is a much tighter weave to the material my original mats were made from and they have a non-slip foam backing. The mats above...
