In my old physics alevel class used to work out how much hitting a fly slows the average car down when colliding at 70 mph for the car and 1 mph for the fly.
Conservation of momentum.
Think it knocks about a millionth of 1mph off you speed.
It is worth it in my opinion.
True youre not going to get thumping sound from them but what you get is more, all round sound.
You could always fit some decent components speakers in them with a sub in the boot.
Dink, my mams old Clio had four corner screw holders. These were like long moulded plastic cylinders to screw screws into.
Not sure what the newer Clios are like.
Give us the number of the garage.
We can phone them up and ask for a price and see if they say £140 to us.
If so, Ill shout Dick Turpin down the phone and hang up. Sniggers.
Im so hard.
182 Brighter?
Ive always thought the Titanium silver of the 182 is a lot flatter and duller than the silver on a mk2 172.
As for the lights, yeah looking at the left one, I now see the grey bits clearer.
I park a mile away from work and walk the rest. Better than the bus/metro.
Cheaper, quicker, cleaner, more reliable.
Plus the mile I walk is the only exercise I do.
Take the wheel off and have a look at how much friction material is left on them (Im guessing its the front brakes).
If theres less than 5mm, Id replace them. If not, take them out, clean all the crap off the pads and calipers. Apply some copper grease to the backs of the pads (the non...
What a tragic end to its life.
All those miles driven, no accidents. All those former owners. Wind, rain, mots, polishes. tlc.
Only for some jealous fecker to take a liking to it.
Just been looking on the rac data checker. 14 previous owners, built in 1982.
Im sure theyd all be gutted...
I went from a 1.4 RT (which is similar to a 1.2 16v) to a Saxo VTS (similar to a 172).
Just take it easy for the first few days. Learn the gears, learn the handling, the brakes etc.
Tbh people talk about these cars being tricky on lift-off over steer but I cant say Ive had any trouble and I...
I agree.
Probably the best mk1 Ive seen. Nothing to make it look tacky or egg boxed.
Superb example. Leave it as it is.

People try to make the most of what they have.
You have a lower spec, 5 door Clio.
Thing is mate, youve gone too far.
Imo, its too fiddly. Bits stuck here there and everywhere just for the sake of it, it seems.
I could live with a colour coded, alloyed, lowered, 5 door Clio. On yours...
Depends who the former owner was.
My mams car is 7 year old and has 26k. Hardly uses it.
Check for signs of wear and tear on the seats, pedals etc. Does it look like its had an easy life?
Check the service history. If it hasnt got any, Id walk away. Lot of money can be thrown at older...
When I first bought my vts, it used to make me grin from ear to ear.
It was so ridiculously quick after being used to an RT.
Used to it now, it feels slow at times even though I know itll give most cars I come across more than a fright.
When I had an old 1.2RL after the vts went in...
