H&R use Bilstien shocks anyway, it's just labelling.
Leda's are easily adjusted.
Fred, is it the same spring and platform setup as H&R's on the Bilstiens for the rear? Would a stiffer spring be worthwhile on mine?!
Not nesessarily, stiffer isn't always the best. It depends on the track.
You would probably run bedford with a lot stiffer setup than if you were driving the ring or and oulton park style track. If that makes sense? But it essentially is up to what you prefer, I would rather have a stiffer...
Mark, you've seen my car...H&R...end of!
No seriously, H&R's are the nuts. Mine have been on for about 40,000 miles now and I've never found them uncomfortable or had any problems with them. Done about 7-8 trackdays and 4 ring trips on them too. Plus I used to do 110 miles a day commuting...
Cups are different to normal 172's.
Sportlines might do about 5mm tops but you won't notice that tbh. Pro's raised my cup!
It's a big shame really as they're a very good spring. If only they dropped more.
H&R all the way.
Apex would be the best bet but, as said above and from personal experience, they're not the best. But the fact they're around 80 quid and you can fit them easily, you can't grumbe really.
There is no other spring that lowers a sport clio, certainly not the Eibach range.
I've used Halfords own 5w40 for the last 50,000 miles and she runs fine but sure some oil snobs will kick me down. As long as you change it regularly with 5w40 rather than the 10w40 you'll be fine. Mines done 88,000 miles now with plenty track use and 4 ring trips in between, runs like a peach...
It was in the next bay to me at the weekend, think my mate's servicing it today. It's nicely done, one seat, cage and nowt else. Stuuuuuuuuuuuupid negative camber on the front, have it.
More or less the same as mine apart from the R-sport and mine's 10ft lower ;)
They definately get better with miles, I'm on 88,000 now:)
Get coilovers Mark and you'll be a lot quicker. You knowsit.
Yeah I've driven all variants of rsport clios and none feel as nimble and raw as the cup. The 182 cup that my mate had once was crap, felt slow and heavy. The trophy felt nice but heavier.
sm_wrc's is nice but then he's done a lot to it. Saying that, I think there's mixed bunches of cars from...
