Came out this morning to find a small patch of green fluid under my car. New thermostat and seal... Job done.
Then I fitted a cat-back exhaust system to someone else's 182 but that doesn't really count.
Don't be so fast to blame the alternator for
Either not charging or draining your batt as there's loads of things in a modern car that Could achieve the same result over 2-3days if left unchecked. Obviously you should do the basics yourself (check batt voltage when running then check alternator...
I've done a few of those Dan... Piece of piss on the 3.0dCi
Once you strip all the plastics out the only thing you need to watch is the fuel pump mark as it walks slightly even when pinned. New tensioners and belt on, rip out the tensioner pin and your done... Thanks Isuzu.
I also had to...
Entry was a joke and whoever the company was that was suppose to "manage" the flow of people trying to get in shouldn't be allowed to do it again as they just weren't pro-active.
I always enjoy seeing people and meeting new club members but this year just didn't seem to work for me and i don't...
I remember you chap.... still got the coupe or did it go in the end? Also you emailed me earlier so i'll get the price to you ASAP. Just finished off a timing belt on a 3.0 Espace and i'm officialy D-U-N for the day because that wasn't fun.
Could even be a thermostat stuck/failed in the closed position (I had this with a 172 yesterday after fitting a new Renault item)... Really needs to be seen I'm afraid to offer an accurate diagnosis.
Mick
Sounds like a release bearing/clutch fault to me. The car drives okay and the noise stops whilst clutch pedal is released and the vehicle is moving yes?
If yes, rules out a gearbox fault - replace clutch kit
If no, possible gearbox internal fault -remove an inspect.
Mick
It'll depend what's actually wrong but from what you're saying I think you've possibly had water ingress which is common and takes out the components and the PCB... To be sure you'd have to remove the UCH and take it out of the hard case.
Jonny makes a good point, a 2nd hand set will do you...
Sam, the car won't go in to limp mode matey but please, don't reset the light if it's not been serviced.
I think I'm alone on this but it really annoys me when people do this as you're not only lying to yourself but the engine needs basics such as oil and filters replacing to keep it running...
I used to do them but tbh, once they go you tend to fid they keep going and it gets annoying seeing the same units come backwards and forwards all the time.
It's your call but I'd recommend you just just bite the bullet and get a new one.
Mick
They'd need to be tested electrically before you go off and start buying "miracle products"
Start with a proper diagnostic session and go from there.
Mick
It could be loads of things but check the brake pedal switch first and try to reset it (See guide in members section) as its free to DIY
Ideally needs diagnostics though I'm afraid.
Mick
Deffo a UCH fault this, we've seen a few. Ideally needs a new one or you could try for a repair... Will never be right though.
I think we charge about £340 for them supplied, coded, etc
Mick
Gutted but it's kind of inevitable...
People see one person slow at a corner to then hoon it up a straight or thru a corner section then another tries it and before long everyone is lining up to have a go - you can't cruise the lap then because you're stuck waiting behind three cars and getting...
How could the OP have done this damage by driving it? It's been in for a Valve timing fault already which I'd guess they've bodged and it's gone wrong.
Personally I'd want the covers off for a proper look see with an impartial/independent not in the pocket of the trader to assess the actual...
Get a solicitor to write another letter for you... That will cost but will kick them in to action so money well spent.
Sounds like a rocker has flipped and gotten trapped/broken. No doubt loss of compression is causing the non start and it's no doubt mashed the camshaft.
