I usually go to 7k rpm in first and second and about 6,5k rpm in 3rd. That gives a nice quick getaway from most things on the road and drops it nicely around 5k rpm on each gear change.
Anyone got the phone number for R Sport please ?
I am going to ask them why they do not do serial programming and if they are developing it.
Also need it so I can possibly order the ECU soon if the above is not being developed.
I spoke with main enquiries number. They said for the mods of Air filter and Exhaust they would just email superchips for the correct map and it would be close enough without rolling road as the dealerships do not have them.
Any success stories with superchips ???
Just called them today - dont use rolling road to set up mapping for cars with mods but do use a different map for modded cars. Cost about £290 all in with about 9/10 BHP and 10/12 f Lbs torque.
Anyone had this done on a 172 / cup ? and was it worth it ?
Out of interest, What problems are you having ?
It may be worth going to another dealership saying you are "working on a mates car" and do they stock the part ?
Or you could run around a few of your local Exhaust places and see if they have something you could use.
Mine has just started now I have covered 9200 miles. Was OK when I left it with the garage on thurs. When I picked it up on Sat am it has a loud buzz at 4k rpm. I have decided to live with it, if I can till Jan 2004 when I plan to fit the Ktec twin pipe.
Its somewhere in the brake circuit between the front & Rear Wheels. Not sure exactly where but if you get it up on ramps im sure you will be able to identify it.
Test the brakes while stationary by pressing very gently on the pedal and release it quickly. If you hear a clunk from the back...
A topic much talked about a few weeks ago. Had mine checked as my rear brake discs had almost as much wear as the fronts (9200 miles now) and a few scary moments when having to brake on corners as the rear end didnt feel quite right. Checked operation as in previous posts (gently press brake...
I changed oil at 3k still using the semi (Elf) but want to change to synthetic at 12k service. I cant find any mobil1 10/40 or 5/40 locally but ther seems to be loads of 0/40.
Clean all the earth bonding straps and check that the wires on the solenoid / starter motor are done up tight. Be very careful not to let the spanner / wrench touch anything as you could ground the battery out (not good). You would be best to disconnect the battery first for safety reasons...
my front tyres are prob about 1.5k off needing replacing and I go and get a nail throught the wall of the rear....typical.
I cant find anyone that stocks or lists the Cup tyre. Can anyone help ?
I heard that anything else on the Cup doesnt suit it fully and I dont want to loose any...
