x-low ones from cobra should be less then a week, it only takes them a day to make and can be ordered direct, or cheaper through someone like demon tweeks like i did.

how many years and miles has it done?
main things changed on a basic service for a 172 are:
oil and filter
air filter
pollen filter
other things such as spark plugs and fuel filter are mileage dependant.
have you checked your oil? this happened with my mates 172, just SERV light and nothing else. checked dipstick and it needed topping up. light went straight off when he did that. worth a look at the dipstick imo.
pfft... you've been done over mate. take it back and complain if i was you. i watched my mot tester do my test - and there was no 'bounce' test. and he's legit too.
flippin hell, handbags or what! i only wanted a recommendation on a filter tool for a 172!
looks like it would be wise to buy a gripper and a strap/and or chain - as this will cover or vehicles im planning to change the filters on!
i think im gonna buy that laser tool anyway and a strap one to add to my ever growing tool set! i suppose every car will need different ones, so i get that one and a strap one i should be covered!

there are two, the renault sport ones are different to normal clio ones. just double check the part number with renaul and compare it with the oe numbers that ecp list. my mate had to buy had to buy one - and he had to get his from renault.
QH = Quinton Hazell, they are an aftermarket parts manufacturer. GSF don't do them, and as far as I was aware through work, if you can't get the tight size stretchy boot to fit properly, Renault is the only real option. I'm sure QH do them in many different sizes so maybe measure up your old...
