Welcome to CS Lovely car but I see whay you want to get rid of that exhaust....massive isn't it and hangs down a treat. OE exhaust is fooking expensive isn't it...I'd personally got for the K-tec stealth to retain the cars good looks and not to piss the neighbours off. Also cheaper then...

Easy job Remember not to over torque the bolts on re-fitting....the cast aluminium threads are very easy to strip if your not careful.

Me too The exhaust was so heavy it rocked around on the hangars even from new.....dread to think whatit would be like when the rubber aged. Also far too big...twin 3.5 pipes looked fooking silly on the little Clio. I went for a K-tec stealth in the end and it's been on the car ever since

Definately sounds likr the brakes were shot which is bad trading really. I would take it further

Spending silly amounts of money on your car in my eyes just leads to more responsibilty and having to look after something so much as your so worried bout it getting fooked. To much stress for me so I'd rather leave it looking externally standard.

I couldn't get a backbox on it's own for my 172...the exhaust right up to the car comes in one piece (2002 model).

My 2002 172 has all the gubbins apart from cruise control...not sure when that was brought in on the RS models.

I've only done the exhaust (stealth) and panel filter on my 172 so in my eyes is pretty standard anyway.

Looks good...prefer trying to make that fit than drilling holes in the cars suspension turrets.

I got quoted around £300 for a standard 172 exhaust It's that or proper stainless aftermarket ones

Discs & pads I would do yourself. Don't f**k about with the brake lines though if your not sure how to bleed brakes etc.

Upgrade to full stainless mate....you won't regret it and it's probably as cheap as an OE system. Plenty to choose from as well

Also depends on what sort of driving you do most...I'd hate to commute & drive on motorways all the time in the Clio
