My dad had one of these for years that he got given by his mum who owned it from new; said he loved it - changed his whole opinion on French cars; it was reliable, comfy, fairly well built and lasted almost forever until someone hit it a few years back and he got a meagre 450 quid for it. When I...
I'd say it'd sell for more if you could get those problems sorted, without the gearbox problem and with the belts changed it's probably worth about £2000-2500, given the colour and the spec and assuming it's tidy and has good history - so if you can get the belts done and the gearbox sorted for...
Just wait it out - would imagine modified 1.2's are harder to flog as well when you move onwards and upwards. Spend the money you've saved on insurance on beer and going out and then time will soon fly and you'll be able to get an RS and look back and think you made the right choice.
Fair play on your part, but unless you're selling a cheap shitter or a spares/repairs I can't see why you'd ever sell auction style. But who cares; looks like you've got yourself a bargain.
How would the above look if you aligned the text to the left? I know it's not in the original style, but because of the shape of the South West and the text aligned right, it makes the whole thing quite wide.
It is slightly inaccurate - but I would still be doing it for guidelines; all it requires is you going to a price comparison site, manipulating your details so they match what your details will be come renewal - mainly in terms of age and NCB, and then this will give you a rough idea. The ECJ...
Do you know anything about the details of the sale? Curious as to whether Sky bought it because it was doing well and wanted a slice of the pie, or if they bought it because it was going cheap because it's not doing very well?
You bought it without even looking into possible prices?
As for Lordman; as far as I'm aware his policy is tpft, at least it was in his project thread; unless that was last years - still a very good price nonetheless.
You'll have to wire it from the other side - if you sign up to become a full member of the forum, there's a really good guide on how to do it in the guides section.
I'd imagine a large proportion of cars these days don't have proper routine service histories. I guess you've just gotta look for the best you can, or be patient.
I think it's often confusion between what full service history is - to some it may just be that there is a record of any servicing that has been done, regardless or when, where or by whom it was done.
Just do it, have some fun, and then if you can't afford/don't think it was worth the money then sell it on. You'll lose some money, but it's better than never knowing, if it's what you feel you definitely want.
I have an S2, had the option to upgrade to the S3, turned it down, got a cheap SIM only contract and pocketed the extra 20 quid a month it saves me. Best decision I've made, the S3 is obviously better, but all I do is browse the web and text/call, so paying out for a slightly more advanced phone...
My expression? 1500 maybe, I'd hoped more like 1800 going by Autotrader and the like, but the ones at that price on Autotrader tend to sit there a while. 02 Reg, 39k, all original.
I think you'd have to be patient; you could try listing it around 900-1000, but would expect people to try and haggle you down, so I think if you got 800 you'd do well. Bare in mind as well as the milage it's also a couple of years older - and the mk2 ph2's are now so cheap also that many will...
Wait, you were planning on selling your current car and getting a 172 for near enough the amount your Alize sells for? How muh do you think you're going to get for the Alize? Have you had a lot done to it?
Normally dislike coloured interior parts; but Semtax's silver bits actually look really good. They tie in with the colour of the door handles, pedals and the like. My problem with painted dash strips is that they look really shiny when painted, which makes the interior look even more plastic, if...
Clean the connection between the wire and the starter motor. If this happens again, try giving the starter motor a little tap with something like the rubber end of a hammer, but tap it lightly mind.
The DCI is hella tidy. Did you get the 172 for a good price? Curious as to why you'd travel 180 miles to get a car that has a few things that need sorting unless it was cheap - given that there were probably a couple of dozen 172's available nearer to you. Anyway, regardless, given the DCI, I'm...
For the cost of an MOT test, if you're fairly certain it's going to pass fine, I can think of little else you could do for such a small amount of money that would make your car that much more "sellable" - If it's just passed an MOT then it's likely to be in good shape; whereas if it's only got 1...
I'm no expert, but possibly the connection to the starter motor, disconnect the little cable and clean it up with your fingers so the connection is cleaner. If not, it could be the solenoid, in which case give the starter motor a little tap with something, most suggest the rubber end of a...
Run the diagnostic to check the bulb is still working?
EDIT: You have to get pretty low, you can roll around for quite a while with the dial at red/empty before the fuel warning light comes on.
