I'd already read about the engine mount issues on here..., then floored it in first gear the other day accompanied by a bang from the front that took me by surprise somewhat.
Only does it when you really dump it in first, hear nothing most of the time even during spirited driving. The symptoms...
I would've thought that if the police catch you driving a stolen car, you just leg it there and then, you don't start thinking about nicking it again in the future....!
Since they need the SPARE keys, I'm assuming they don't have the originals and thus that the scum actually fled the scene. Although why they'd bother taking the keys with them is a mystery.......

Glad to see you're alright after that (lucky bugger) though I guess not hitting anything too solid always helps. And like others, i'm reassured that our little cars seem to hold up well in a smash.
No, it was a more 'mechanical' noise than stones.....
Dunno, I only heard it briefly on one roundabout so turned the stereo down and listened again at the next, then I was home so not overly clear on the symptoms yet.
