I really like the CTR...always have since it first appeared over here. My 'problem' if you like is the fact that I see so many of them on an everyday basis.

Exaclty I've driven some real boats in my time (Golf TDi) and some really rattly, bad handling c**p (Renault 5s) so the 172 to me is fine. At the end of the day that's the rub with cars like thw 172/182.....confort has to be compromised to achieve the sharp handling.

I've got no problems with the ride quality of my 172 (on standard springs & shocks)....you do get a lot of feedback from the road but isn't that what makes it fun to drive?

Nonsense My car spends 5/6 days a week in the garage as well without any problems. I can definately see problems arising with the use of car covers though not alowing condensation to evaporate

I totally see your point and wish you the best of luck with it TBH it's about time we (motorists) started kicking up more fuss about the state of the roads and the damage it can cause....after all we're being taxed to f**k and fleeced at every oppurtunity by car parking charges and tickets etc.

Sounds about right for the cambelt I got quoted £600 for the cambelt from Renault:(

£131 for the cambelt fitted.....that can't be right. Cheapest I've got it down to is around £350

Do all you can to get it fixed by them.....and if you can't get it sorted just make their lives difficult

Go for the 172...you won't regret it:)
