That was my journey last week. Got there, to the forth rail bridge and halfway back home on one tank.
That was in my 182 with luggage and a passenger, 172 with just a driver should do better than that

I keep toying with doing mine. Could it be done with a wrap? They aren't metallic (I dont think :o) So in theory it would work???
I painted mine yellow, the only way to roll ;)
Mine have never melted, as a lot of people have said, I've never done a track day, but I've cooked my brakes a few times on the road, just probably not hero enough to melt the paint :o
Betws-y-Coed is stunning, the roads are amazing in every direction, one of the best is the one that goes from Betws-y-Coed to Abergele:

This is where I got a little lost also, I'm not sure which pipe needs blocking off, I replaced the canister because I didn't want to start bodging anything on the car, so unfortunately with regards to not running the canister, I'm not too sure.
There is an electrical wire running into the top of it.
I simply unplugged the electrical wire that goes into the canister, never even thought about EML, I didn't get one though, not something I've heard of either.
Collects harmful particles from the fumes from the petrol tank iirc.
3 bolts and some hoses.
Piece of piss to take off, bumper and wheelarch needs to come off, that's the hardest bit!
No idea why it ticks, but it's perfectly safe to take it off (I think it's just opening it that's risky)
I did mine, was easy as! Some people say you can run the car without the carbon canister, personal choice though.
Yeah as Jon and Rhys have said, I joined them both today to take some photos, wasn't feeling too great so couldn't be bothered washing/driving my car!
Not put any of them through PS as Topgear is looming so just the originals will have to do :)
Enjoy...

Aye, the road bridge is impressive, but when the rail bridge is next to it, doesn't really compare!
Yeah I don't think it'll be getting 2118's but it may see coilovers in the summer...
Recently got back from a nice long weekend up in Edinburgh with the Mrs, fantastic city, so much to see and do there!
The car was fantastic, 450 miles and did 39mpg over the whole journey, was good fun through the mountain roads into Edinburgh too ;)
On the way home I got the standard Forth...
