I think you'll be impressed mate
I'm going to test drive one soon which will be fun...I hope it's not too nice though otherwise my moving/house plans will take a hit as I put a deposit down lol
It does look like it's more expensive than the old model but not by that much.
I just though it looked great inside and out....would love to see one in black or silver:D
I reckon if you measured it up and brought a universal K&N cone it would go inside the OE airbox....have to be quite a small cone though.
I would be inclined to source a used airbox...you could then cut it and fibreglass bigger ducts on etc and return to std if you wanted to.
I was cycling into town yesterday evening when I spotted my first 197 parked up so I had a good look.
Now this car was blue which isn't my favourite colour but FooK me did it look great.....miles ahead of Ford & Vauxhaul Styling wise.
I'd love one of these now but the only thing which I...
I remember when I was taken for a test drive in mine before I brought it and I thought fook me this is quick.
Bit different when your in the driving seat though...never feels massively quick but I do love the steering & grip:D
The 182 does have the twin exhausts and 10 more bhp (different manifold) but I'm sure you could get a 172 in better condition.
Just go for the best car (service history, mileage & condition) that your money can get you...at the end of the day they are both great fun to drive:D
Hate to be a party - pooper but I'd have to agree with the above.
Lots of induction noise is nice but I hate to think I'm spending money to loose torque/power with an induction kit:(
I believe the K-tec one is made by Janspeed mate
I brought my Janspeed sports cat from Demon Tweeks cheaper and it's pretty good quallity.....fits nicely and hasn't thrown on the emissions light on the dash at all.
I know Fred will come on saying people who buy sports cats are girls or bent...
You don't have to remove the wheels.
I took the bumper off my 172 recently to fit a splitter and never took the wheels off.....just turn them to the full lock position and use some long nose pliers to get the bungs out of the splash guards (two per side)....rest is pretty easy:D
Good job you got the plate and some witnesses....you should have a pretty good case for getting your insurance sorted.
TBH I think it's about time the government/traffic police clamped down on mopeds & mini motorbikes.....they seem to be causing a lot of accidents and are usually ridden by...
Know how you feel..I always get a bit edgy when I leave my car at a garage for a service or fix.
As for the oil leaking out of the cam cover onto the manifold I believe that it's a bit more complicated on the 172/182 as this cover is integral with the cams themsevles.
