Weld in place
TBH the turrets are so close to the bulkhead that I wouldn't of thought a strut brace would make much difference.
Looks good under the bonnet though...my old Renault 19 16v had one as standard which looked pretty neat but I think that thing needed it
I think Vauxhall are catching up with the OE Subaru & evo but still not in the same league....especially when the jap cars are modified.
You look at cars like the WRX STi RA and you've got a brutal rally bred car out of the box...not just about all out bhp but things like weight saving, short...
Don't think it really matters that much..personally I think if you can stretch to the the Mk2 I'd go for it as it's a better looking car.
Whatever you go for they are serious fun and reasonably economical/easy to live with:D
Good review
I don't doubt at all that the 197 is probably quicker than it's predeccesors...it's the brakes and suspension that probably make all the difference.
Lovely car....just a tad too expensive though:(
Engine should rev more freely and there will be some gains
Not sure exactly how much but probably anything up to 5bhp.....not sure what this equates to in performance though.
I'm not sure exactly how much difference there is in terms of gains
I do know that the sports cat has far fewer cells than the OE one so is going to be less restrictive but not as much as the full decat.
I say if you don't mind changing over the decat to the cat at MOT time it's probably...
