set up question for better air flow ?

I'd Leave the valve in place...it'll make no difference removing it. Hillpower elbow will look good but will give no improvement in power. Airfeed from the front will also give little gain. ITG panel is a winner though:D

How Do I Fit Cold Air Feed?

Makes no difference to heat soak....where that valve is stays pretty much the same temp as the air outside the car/engine bay. The acoustic valve isn't a restriction, it merley changes the length of the inlets at different speeds which is important to torque levels.

my 172 cup on 17 inch tsw warriors

Not my cuppa.....prefer the std 16 inch wheels

    B**tards nicked my Cup splitter!!!

Sorry to hear this....what a kunt. I did think this could be a problem so I took the bumper off my car and bolted the splitter on.

    Chavs in other clios....

If I see people doing that I always give them a dose of their own medicine....get up f**king close and get those headlights on full beam.

    Plenty more to go:D

How Do I Fit Cold Air Feed?

You can remove the fog and run a cold air feed down to it but I personally wouldn't bother. If your running the OE airbox with a decent filter like the ITG the std air feeds are good enough. It's worth noting that removing the acoustic valve is also a waste of time....renault spent time tuning...

    Cup Callipers... Opinions?

I work in graphics/design and I can tell you yellow calipers will go with the blue of the car best.

Viper vs ITG vs Std air box

Have to agree..£300 is a lot of money to me these days

    Stolen 182

Glad you got a result and the insurance has paid up:D Stressful experience though.....I've never had a car stolen but I can only imagine how bad it must be.

    Cup Callipers... Opinions?

Yep.....worst two colours to put together. Orange & blue will look okay with Green though

Does your Clio start first time?

Always starts first time (touch wood):D

    Which Sports Cat

I'm not sure what the gains are but the car felt more driveable after fitting it:D

Viper vs ITG vs Std air box

Seen a lot of open filters on Jap cars The main reason for this is a a Skyline/evo running 500bhp plus needs more airflow than the OE airbox can deliver. For a 2 litre NA engine in a reasonably std state of tune the airbox designed for it will be up to the job.

    I Finally Own A Clio!!

    Nice one...enjoy the car:D

    Rubbish

That BS about the petrol is unlikely to be the problem. Pinking is detonation....sounds like nails/bolts rattling about in exhaust/engine. If you have heard this and it actually was detonation your pistons would be pretty damaged by now.....modern engines have knock sensors to detect this...

    pikey ecu reading / playing

Under the bonnet....just look behind the battery and you'll see a black metal case/cover over the ecu.

    Which Sports Cat

Janspeed from Demon Tweeks with CS discount. Fits fine and doesn't seem to cause any issues with the O2/emission lights:D

Viper vs ITG vs Std air box

F-all is the answer to that. IMHO induction kits are only worth fitting on turbo or heavily modified cars where the engines need for air exceeds the flow capacity of the standard airbox.

    few bacsic mods

Don't bother with the inlet elbow either...looks nice but will make f-all difference peformance wise. K-tec splitter is nice....just fitted one and I'd recommend it:D

    K&N Typhoon

That looks pretty good I take it the problem with the fitting is the bracket at the filter end to stop it moving about?
  27. Neil G

    Janspeed Sport Cat...more noise?

I'm not a welder but can spot good an bad welds....TBH I thought the ones on my Janspeed weren't too bad. s**t compared to my titanium mountainbike though;) As far as noise goes I think you may notice a slight difference but it's not ear splitting bad.

    Renault Clio 172 MK2 - Silver

Not too keen on the wheels but silver looks the business

    Straightening mk2 sills

Mine are flattened too. Going to use a decent pair of pliers and a cloth to protect the paintwork.

    Magnex exhaust

By pipe bore I meant the exit/tailpipes...IMO twin 3.5 looked f**king stupid on the Clio.
