Definately glad to hear your going to get some Axle stands...Not worth risking it with the OE jack.
Axle stands are a useful addition to your tool kit which will come in handy for other jobs in the future:D
Too true....insurance companies are cracking down on this and will check up if you have an accident as to who was driving the car most of the time.
Be very careful
Yeah....I have seen quite a few threads with some slating going on.
I wasn't bothered by the knocking...just looked at it, took the bracket off and used a round file to lengthen the slots in the bracket so it would shift further away from the BB hangar.
I've brought a few parts from K-tec...
True
My Steath was fitted properly but was still sightly the wrong length so the backbox bracket banged.
That pic looks pretty serious though as is down to weight/movement of the box
My K-tec Stealth is a nice fit and doesn't bang on anything....I did have to modify the OE exhaust hangar though so it didn't knock.
Nice and light so no issues with hangars.....IMHO the larger, twinpipe exhaust made for the 172 are much too heavy for the stock mounts.
Welcome to the forum
Go for the Trophy if you can....much better than anything Ford have got to offer at the moment (apart from GT40 replica).
182 still a cracking car and will keep you entertained:D
