They did it on al;l the energy engine, can only guess it was to keep temperatures down.
If i was you i would move that air feed slightly closer, make it atleast 80mm, and put one comming in from the other side, and see if you can get some...
Done it on my RSi, with a de-cat too, very loud, and AFAIK it is faster, running std power, but i'm utting that down to teh fact the engine is on 125k, so lots of wear.
If you speak to any of the compnaies that make proper race systems they are all straight through items
Already tried that and mole grips, to no avail, normal rubber hoses are ont eh fronts still, will chop the unions off and stick new ones on, now that i ahve transport to go and buy the flairing tool
Came to fit my braided brake lines today, and the unions on the fronts are that tight no amount of plus gas wil shift them infact i've partia;lly rounded the nut off :mad::o
Now i seem to remember i can chop the line, and re-fit new unions to the end of the copper pipe, but i don't have access...
Wouldn't bother wiht anythign other than pagid fast road pads, certainly not any crap off ebay, £30 from GSF for a set of pagids, been on my car for 3 tracks days so far and only about 50% worn

Really wouldn't bother wiht rad weld or eggs etc, mate of mine fixed a leak in his rad wiht rad weld, it decided to leak ahgain going 90, temp shot right up, head gasket went......fucked engine, ended up having a complete new engine.

Usually on older cars , or american cars its in lb/ft, my mates got an old old bike and everything is in lb/ft in teh Haynes for that, but on ym 10 year old clio the Haynes specifies both, i just use Nm cus i like to be modern, and its the nearest column to the text:clown:
