Not too bothered with file permissions tbh... its only going to be used by me for mp3s and movies. Think im gnna stick with fat32 so i can plug it into other things if i ever want to!

More secure? in what sense? I want something reliable as i plan on keeping this drive for years like my previous drive. Is it really that much quicker? :S

Just recieved a new external drive should i format it in ntsf or leave it in fat32? My old external drive was ntsf but what are the major advantages/dissadvantages for fat32/ntsf? My new headunit can read fat32 (so can xbox 360) but has it got any dissadvantages? All thats on the drive is HD...

Yeh but the rest of the car hasnt, hence fade. Even though they used the same paint code this doesnt guarantee a colour match due to envoriomental factors that age/alter paint.

Is it just me or does the colour match look w**k and the general finish hideous? :S the bootlide/bumper seem to stand out from the rest of it by FAR?

Oh right, not too bothered about that tbh. If it showed a huge alpine logo in black/white across the LCD whenever the headunit was on... that would be a different matter!

Thanks! Blue wire to same remote the amp/sub normally works off then? So i actually unplug the red plug into the DISPLAY and not the head unit old wiring? So i have to take the dash off?

3.5mm jack into headunit actually, just dont know where the red block goes or the blue wire... thinking it could be earth as you say.

Ahh that might make sense actually, im use to the layout of my old mk2ph1 (non tuner list model) so maybe the tuner list DOES need to be connected differently???
