if the wheel moves 1/2" inards, that is 12mm, so you would need to buy spacers up to 12mm, or get wheels wiht an offset of ET25, std wheel are ET37 - 12mm = ET25.
But as was said above this is gonna bugger up your handling. If it was me, id buy the wheels and try em, if you need to move them...

Bosch do a great one, 100 bar pressure, retails for £90, Aquatak 100. Has a roto jet thing on it, and if you use that on the car it will strip the paint, so its that powerful, only about 2ft tall.
I work in a DIY shop, the larger one on the trolly is £200, and is only 20 bar more powerful...

Sounds silly but have you checked the connections, you havent snagged a wire when fitting them back on, cuis i knwo when i did mone they were a pain to get on, if you have snagged a ire and its earthing on the car body....
