    Well that's very interesting.

No worries mate. If I had half your knowledge on motors I'd be dangerous. Your input is all very much appreciated. Same goes for everyone else. As said, it'll be a bit of a pisser once this is rectified, as it's all a learning experience which is good.

Again, image of pre-cat and post-cat lambda in operation: Rear doing nothing, which I now know is correct as they run at a constant .5v. Front one seems to be working fine (if fine is that sort of graph). When I disconnect the post-cat lambda, both run at .5v and don't move regardless of how...

    Bah - Still cutting out

Right, so on that basis, the pre and post-cat lambda's aren't in a sequence event? So removing or disconnecting the post-cat lambda should not have any bearing on the reading the pre-cat lambda gives off. Yet on mine when I disconnect, the pre-cat lambda doesn't even register a reading anymore.

It shouldn't really be mega expensive to fix the issue anyway, IMO. I know a throttle body new can be £80+, but I'm not expecting it to be anything more. All the little sensors etc. are basic and around £20 ish too. It's the trial and error that's the money pit. I agree Chip, the lambda issue...

Indeed. The car is definitely low enough to do serious damage. I may actually just take it to the garage after work and ask them to do a lambda exchange front to back.

Got plenty of WD40 ;) Only problem is I don't have axle stands, just a trolley jack. Not sure if it's wise lifting the car on just that to work under.

Check out the live diagnostics image I posted on page 5. The pre-cat lambda is working as it should. Well, I say that - it's certainly giving off readings and when I rev the car it's voltage is definitely increasing/decreasing. I will swap lambdas over later.

    Bah - Still cutting out

I didn't realise the front lambda was directly infront of the cat/decat? I thought it was further up? Out of interest, why when I disconnected my rear lambda would the front lambda fail to work?

It's ok checking that pipe from the engine down, but once it's gets into the matrix of pipes and components, it's difficult keeping tabs on it and therefore checking it all the way down. Like I say, the mechanics checked for any leaks after they'd fitted the cylinder head etc. but I guess an air...

Not sure which sensors are linked to the TRIP. Anyone?

    Bah - Still cutting out

The car was cutting out before I put the map on mate, so I don't see that as an issue. Also, I would have to re-write the original ECU map and then overwrite the current calibration map, which takes time. It's not a case of simply replacing the current calibration with the original calibration...

    PES 13

Just out of interest, the demo for this is out now. Early impressions, the majority have been blown away by what it offers. It's only 5 minutes of gameplay but the it's getting much praise. I'll be downloading later. There are loads of vids online now of demo gameplay.

Didn't check that. Will do later. I'm sure someone will have a digital figure for when the petrol light comes on. Mine used to be around 41 or so and then it would change to --- Now it's showing mid-20's which it's never done before.

    Bah - Still cutting out

Yeah could certainly be a bad connection somewhere but it's just odd that it doesn't happen when the car is cold. It's when it's warmed up to about halfway on the temp gauge. Which makes me think it's a sensor or something sticking. Also, and probably unrealted, as I mentioned my petrol gauge...

    Bah - Still cutting out

I was just saying to Nick, I can even feel within the car on the way to work when the "change" occurs, the car seems to become a little different for a second like it's going through the alteration from cold to warm and I know it's going to cut out when it happens. True enough, I get to a...

    Thanks mate. That excludes that.

    Bah - Still cutting out

Out of interest, is the idle control valve on the 182 built into the throttle body, or is it somewhere else? Also, couple of requests: 1. A picture of where the front lambda is located (I believe it's on the manifold somewhere, but easy to get to?) 2. Any information or images of the...

    Bah - Still cutting out

The cylinder head and everything were checked for air leaks when it was reassembled. I asked this question yesterday. The throttle body comes with built in gasket/o-ring on the 182 and possibly 172 ph2.

    FAO - Cliosport.net old-timers

Indeed. Very interesting. I've gone from my BG Clio 182 to an Impreza P1, then a WR1, then an E46 M3 back to the Clio 182. It's clearly the best. Or was the best option taking into account a lot of life factors... LOL. Great little cars though.

It's already fitted in the decat mate. All I did earlier was unclip the connector but left the lambda plugged into the decat. As of now, it's back to how it was and has been - both lambdas plugged in and connected. I just found it odd that when I unclipped the connected to the rear, the front...

    Bah - Still cutting out

Oh, I almost forgot, I did mention that over the last few days when it's cut out, it's seemed to rob me of petrol, as I've certainly had enough in the tank to prevent the light coming on, yet it still comes on after the cut out. Again, this isn't happening all the time, but when it does, I'm...

    Bah - Still cutting out

Good man. Fountain of knowledge. Didn't think it would do it after every rev, but there you go. Any ideas what the hell is wrong with my car? So far this week I have: Cleaned the throttle body - did nothing. Cleaned the TDC - did nothing. Swapped V6 airbox for standard box - did nothing...

Dan, I take it the tick/click noise after revving is normal? It's like a relay action but it comes from belt side.

    Bah - Still cutting out

F*ck me this bloody car. It's a good job I don't know where this Mr. Renault lives. France somewhere no doubt... How on earth do you reset one? I took mine off, cleaned it, put it back on and it seemed fine. Aside from the cutting out. Obviously.

    Bah - Still cutting out

Haha that would explain that then. Nice work Einsteins. Now what's wrong with my car?? ;) Jay, I'll have that TB please mate. Nick is also sending me one but you can never have enough. Much appreciated :)
  27. Scutch

    Bah - Still cutting out

Oh and perhaps someone could check their own, I'm sure this will be normal, but when I was revving the car earlier with the bonnet up, a few seconds later there'd be a click noise from around the belts, like a fuse activating noise. What will that be. Not only that, but should I be able to rev...

If that's the case it's doing its job then. 409mV is around .5v So my post lambda is fine? Well well. Back to being stumped I go.

Is the front sensor easy to locate? I couldn't find it earlier.

Bearing that in mind, is it safe to assume it's not working as it should?
