Not sure whether it was a 172 or 182. In silver, with black stripes and black wheels. Girl driver, in Shirley. You were sat at the lights at Jnc 4 of the M42.
Car looked very nice :approve:
A nightmare sums it up pretty well. I was driving around without an MOT for a few weeks.
I've replied to your pm mate. You might be fine, as said some Cups pass without a problem.
Let us know how you get on.
You can take the links, but doubt they will pay any notice. I took a print out of one of the links to the Renault garage, and I felt as if their attitude was "we're the professionals, why should we listen to what a few boy racers on a forum say".
Wouldn't be surprised if they threw it in the...
Tell me about it. Spoke to Renault Customer Service numerous times, and all I got was "well I've never heard of this problem on another car before".
You'd think they would hold their hands up by now and admit there is a problem.
The cars are failing a basic safety test cos the brakes...
I had a hell of a lot of trouble with mine. Cos of the compensator that is MEANT to be missing. I even took it to a Renault dealer who also said I needed it. I spoke to Renault Customer Service numerous times, but got no where.
Mine actually failed because the rear brakes weren't efficient...
Sorry to hear it mate.
We had our house broke in to so they could get the keys for my dads LCR. I didn't get the clio until a couple of weeks later thankfully, else they might have been after that aswel.
Dad got his car back without a mark on it. Police found it parked up about 25miles away.
I have got the trackday package, even though I haven't ever used them on a track (yet), I just wanted some better brakes. They squeak, but imagine any track brakes will. The dust has ruined my front alloys though.
We never get snow like that down here. It is just not fair. Even when the local area gets an inch of snow, that inch still manages to miss the town I live in as we are in a dip between the Malverns and Clent hills.
Greenlight dont insure any 172 Cup drivers under the age of 25. So that's pointless.
I'll have to have a think about whether I should go ahead with the invisible mods or not. Seems to be a split decision with people on here. Which I can understand.
Think my insurance is up in a few weeks. May be I should just wait and see how good a quote I can get from Greenlight then. Personally don't think it will be good enough though.
I'm with Privilege and also 21, and no they don't insure under 25's with mods. It's a pain in the arse, as they are quite a bit cheaper.
Cliosport members get discount with Greenlight insurance. They have also got reduced rates for 182's and full fat 172's. They just don't like 172 Cups.
Yeah, but I think greenlight said they give good rates for all clio sports apart from 172 cups due to the amount of claims they have for cups. Might give them a try though. Won't hurt to get a quote.
How much is all that likely to cost?
I like the thought of big gains, but dont like the thought of spending a lot of dollar. I get bored of cars fairly easy, and although I plan on keeping this one a bit longer, there is always the chance I may want to change it before long.
I would...
Sorry. I'll just shut up then, and leave it to you pro's to tell me what is best to do, how much it is likely to cost, and the sort of gains I can expect.
That's if there is anything else, or is an AWT inlet plus remap the best way forward?
I am considering looking in to getting a bit more bhp out of the old Cup. However, the insurance company I am with does not insure any1 under the age of 25 with mods. Hence why I am asking about "invisible" mods.
What can I do that is not really a visible mod, or that someone from an...
What colour 182 you got Mike? I will keep my eyes open. I work about 60 seconds away from the shell garage.
Same as me, never been spotted either, and always about somewhere.
I had this going on for weeks. It is not the fact that the valve is meant to be missing, its the fact that the rear brakes are not efficient enough to pass, which is then put down to the Cup not having the load valve. I Spoke to Renault UK and sent them a long letter like they requested (I never...
