    DIY std ECU mapping

the hardware isn't too hard, the difficult part is decoding the information that you pull off. Without location files you're pissing in the wind If you fancy some DIY decompiling, download Tunerpro RT 5.0 from the tunerpro forums and look on www.moates.net for leads that will let you pull off...

Converting cup pack coilovers to 54mm, can it be done?

When Spax re-designed for cup packed fitment, I supplied original shocks for patterns and they made brackets from scratch as the angles and hole distances were too different to adapt on what they already had.

    The 519 172

no not blues, they're £200+!!! I'm talking £40 a set Pagid OE replacements. I've fitted them to 172s, 197s and meganes that have done track work, and no-one can find fault with them, they just shouldn't be that good for the money, but they are

Heart beat light caused by using the accelerator

GDI never did immobiliser stuff, and it's not existed for over 3 years (I used to work there). To my knowledge it's only ph1 ecus that can have an emulator fitted to fool the immobiliser. Steering lock I can do, and I have spare TB's on the shelf too. Time to consider a Canems Pete ;) Working...

Bit of feedback on the tyres. Ran 2 cars round the ring on V12's this weekend, Both had the same result, no grip issues at all, but the sidewalls are too soft which makes the car shimmy under direction changes. Neither car managed to get the tyres hot after flying laps. No visible wear. On the...

    Nurburgring trip

Campsite will just let you in to find your own pitches, if you struggle, find the guy on the moped with the googly eyes, he speaks good english and is really helpful. We arrived last week and were the only ones there, and within 36 hours it was full of 24hour race visitors. You'll be there in...

Heart beat light caused by using the accelerator

I disagree, wiring faults account for a small proportion of this issue. Changing the throttle body fixes it the vast majority of the time

    A/C delete fault code

never seen that cause a light before, especially an engine light.....seeing as it's not part of the engine/running. I'd say that's not what's causing the light to be on

    squealing brakes - just fitted

Mintex are always a bit noisy, all compounds. They usually supply stick on anti-squeel backing pads, but if you don't have these it's acceptable to use a smear of grease

    Need an exhaust pretty quick

It's significantly louder. With the center silencer it's almost standard until you drive hard

Another cup failing its mot !!!

It's the MOT stations responsibility to test the car correctly. If you tell them they've done it wrong and they need to check it out, they should. If they don't, you need to contact VOSA. The test station can get in trouble for incorrect testing, similar system to points on a driving license.

    explain..throttle bodie

It's sold like that as some people already have an ECU, or want to use/choose something different. You always need an aftermarket ECU
