who does the best ported heads

saw one a while back with high comp and 421s make 221 and IMO the cams were holding it back at that point as they were wrong for the rest of the engine

What heat shield to use on bulkhead?

I'd expect so. Get your tape measure out

    cambelt with all the trimmings...

water pump is a rare issue and not a cambelt off job to change later. Not necessary IMO. Dephaser is only needed if it's noisy, or if you're on particularly high miles, or oil changes have been neglected for an extended period. it is however a cambelt off job to change at a later date

who does the best ported heads

All I know about that home build was it ran Cat 423's. Not even sure of the c/r used, although I'd expect it was 12.5:1

    RenaultSport Clio 182 EU import?

makes bugger all difference. haklf the cars that come in to me have the alarm switch missing off the slam panel so are most likely imports. 99% of buyers have no idea of this

What are the exhaust mounts/hangers on a 182 supposed to look like?

Looks a pretty typical powerflow installation to me. That center hanger is from a metro. They use them on everything. You're unlikely to make standard mounts fit with that system

Mk1 Clio to 172 Conversion engine mounts

you do? I put A 172 mount on my mk1 and it bolted straight on

who does the best ported heads

I've heard of a home build, using standard size valves, and it made 248bhp a few weeks ago, so it certainly is possible

    182 shocks for a 172

might give you funny camber, ie not enough of it

Increasing Wheel Centre Bore 57.1mm to 60.1mm

good wheel place will do it. Needs a large bed lathe. only 1.5mm of material all round so a small increase really

who does the best ported heads

to my knowledge, all the rockers are the same. I've not sat with a microscope, but there's certainly nothing special about 197/200 rockers compared to 172/182

    ITB'd Twingo

Owners brother Phil did it. To be honest you can see why he struggled if you look at the car. Really messed up angles to work with

PIC Request: RB 182 on K tec coilovers

not quite. Ktec ones are cheap. You get cheap parts for small amounts of money, but they're passable for the cost. GAZ are worse, and double the price. Vmaxx are in the same budget bracket I guess, OK for the money but don't expect stunning performance. Vmaxx are the only budget coilovers with...

lol, hence the custom manifold and downpipe recently. Looks like it gained about 12-15hp from it once mapped

owners did most of it to be fair, just needed some improvements and finishing off. There was a build thread on here ages ago with a hideous exhaust manifold (that's now been replaced by a lovely custom one)

    How to clean IACV?

doesn't have an idle valve then, it's electronic throttle. could be the throttle body, an air leak, or a multitude of loom issues on that engine. Diagnostics is the only way forward really
