Help big decrease in MPG after cambelt change

thats really really poor. Admitedly you wont be up in the 40s, but you should still be over 30. I get 22 from my Volvo 850 T5 Auto round town

Help big decrease in MPG after cambelt change

    Oil leak found

and it's a cambelt of job to fix it properly. You might get away with removing bolts and applying a bit of sealer for a while, but it'll deteriorate again eventually

Help big decrease in MPG after cambelt change

getting under 30mpg to start with raises some concern for me. I suspect there was an issue there before, possibly lambda sensor. You should see at least 35mpg, and over 40 if you drive carefully on a run. I'd say the cam timing was out too now. Read the sticky thread at the top of the engine...

rocker cover bolts maybe? doesn't sound like they know the engine very well if they don't recognise the factory fit leaking rocker cover :p

timing belt kit, aux belt, dephaser pulley...

I'm almost positive they'll discover a mistake with that, there's cheap and TOO cheap. The cambelt kit is £124.50 now, The aux belt is £12.50, core plugs are about £13 for the pair, and the dephaser is £176.18. I can understand discounting the parts, but that difference is WAY more than the...

timing belt kit, aux belt, dephaser pulley...

I expect they are all plus VAT, and not an aux kit, but only the belt (silly way of doing it). you do get variations between dealers, I don't use my local becuase they're a lot more expensive than the one 30 miles away that delivers. 3rd price is just going to be wrong, the dephaser alone is £176

Best place to buy ebc brakes ?

i would use literally ANYTHING else before fitting EBC. Good quality standard stuff will go you for the road. I fit/sell Pagid disks and pads and they're excellent. For a "OE replacement" they're better than standard
