mine too. every morning from cold, at about 2.5k it seems like its being restricted, a bit hesitant. then suddenly without applying any pressure on the accelerator, it seems to clear and the power is lovely and smooth.
If itd not damaging the engine, Id rather not let Renault try and fix it...
yes nev, I live in Windlesham. the roads are wide, tree lined, some are well surfaced and they encourage speeding. trouble is, there are blind dips, turns, horses and tractors and too often people whip along, lose it on a blind one and make for the trees. Ive seen some badly messed wrecks...

we sometimes forget that were only bits of flesh and fragile bone, with a very thin bit of skull protecting our brains. The only thing that makes us strong is our arrogance and belief that it wont happen to us. When it does, your arrogance wont stop you from being ripped to pieces, no matter how...

i hope not. Driving along the Chertsey Road this morning, I saw a huge set of skids marks going straight where the road kinks to the left. My eyes followed the skid marks deep into the bushes, where buried arse-end in the foilage, was a Clio Williams. Anyone here want to confess to this error of...

JonC, that was a refreshing post! I agree - other non Clio drivers are welcome; helps everyone keep a fair perspective and its fun reading about other cars, too.

...cut me up !! Thats it your dead !!
at the danger of sounding like my old man (again), would you not consider that he did not cut you up but he made a daft driving mistake like we all do from time to time? Rather than say ...youre dead how about oh well and let it be? You could have...

sean, no. I will come to a halt in second say at a junction, then engage first only when the car has stopped. My driving instructor told me that going 2-1 puts strain on the box. I do believe this is the case - gear boxes should never be forced.
Its better practise to anticipate the traffic...

ok, Im not technical and this may be wrong but bear with me...it is Clio related.
My Alfas gearbox and clutch are at the back of the car (engine at the front). A prop shaft runs from the engine at engine speed to the transaxle at the back. You simply cannot engage first or reverse unless the...

Just witnessed a head-on collision outside my office window between a Volvo 740 and a Clio Mk2. The Clio turned right into the path of the Volvo. Both lady drivers were unhurt, which is a testimony to how strong small cars are these days - surviving an impact with a big, heavy Volvo when youre...

I think the private plate was on the silver car and it was indeed something like jaz or jas, I cant remember now.
Did you see the red Clio V6 go up the hill? Nice!!
I got really badly burnt in the sun. Looked like Id been sat in an oven for an hour when I got home...
I see renault now has a specific brochure dedicated to the C172. And the dashboard pic has the RHD cars red line start before 7k on the rev counter...so thats all ok then.
Sorry to bring that up again
BTW - I saw at least three lovely 172s at Goodwood with ClioSport stickers on them. Saw...
