anyone?
I, perhaps foolishly, promised Puppy a new tail to wag like the one on the big Mercs it admires. Now I may have to go back and tell it that it has to make do with what it has. There will be tears, its little face all scrunched up and sobbing... :(

My Golf GTi used to get looks (it was a real nice original and totally unmarked version, last of the Mk2s with the BBS wheels and big bumpers), and the Alfa...well, you wouldnt get anymore noticed if you were running down the street naked with a big arrow overhead pointing down toward you. :)...
what is a bit silly is the location of the light switch. Twice now at night when indicating to turn right, I have flicked my lights off accidentally. Its too easy to do - something as vital to safety as lights should be on a separate switch which needs a determined effort to activate/deactivate.

stuck in traffic in earls court last weekend, I turned to my right to see three nice ladies in an Audi A4 wave and smile at me. Now, a friend of mine pointed out that ladies like cute cars, so I assume the ladies in the Audi liked the look of Puppy. In fact, Pups gets quite a few looks, from...

Joe, pls do let me know how you get on with your suspension mods.
Best wishes,

thx Joe.
The torque steer - steering wheel yanks and twitches when accelerating quickly on anything but a perfectly smooth road. Overtaking has to be done even more carefully than normal. My sisters fiance had a MK1 172 and his did the same.
The caster and the camber changes - should only...
lo,
First, for me, puppy is plenty fast enough, so not into chipping it etc (yet...). I dont want it to go any faster, but I would like to sharpen up some other things and I wondered what you thought about these performance upgrades:
1) A clutch that works. When accelerating hard and...

when mine plays grumpy puppy in the mornings, I give it a stern talking to and threaten no more Optimax for Puppy!.
This usually works. And therefore you should try it.

theres something about the nuts in those Picnics. One left me for absolute dead in a traffic light GP 18months ago in the Golf.
Think about. Its an MPV. It has a stupid name. Youre in a neat hot hatch that says Im young and enjoying life, hes in car that says Im reigned in by my nuts and I...

Captain, you have hit on something there. I guess the short rear overhang does have a bearing on your perception when parking the car, and this, along with a limited lock, exacerbates the impression that the cars more difficult to park than it actuallty is. I may do some parking practise at the...
well i have no problem admitting it probably says more about my driving skill than the cars deficiency, but it doesnt park as easily as my former Golf, nor indeed my boss Merc Estate.
I still like it lots though!

why is the steering lock so utterley uselss on these cars? I must admit, I couldnt park a Smart in an empty Millennium Dome without cocking it up, but the C172 is a real nightmate to park in a tight spot. The lock is so limited. Never mind parking - yesterday, I couldnt even get round and up the...
