completely standard clutches have proven to cope with 220 lb/ft on numerous occassions now, the Helix one is just guaranteed to that level ;) the paddle has a very low torque handling rating too, but they both are a step up from standard
my parts guy said it was flagged when i first asked about them last year. He traced it back to source and it was just something someone had forgotten to remove. Seems to be the case that more and more fitments are becoming available too thankfully

I think he's more likely put the locking pin in the wrong hole. There's often a balancing drilling quite close to the hole for the lock pin. Fixed loads that have been done that way
only time I've heard a noise like that is when valves have been hitting pistons very slightly, but it did it when the vvt switched and above.
Timing check, Dephaser check, oil pressure check, and bore scope to check for any contact would be my course of action
