I've done a fair few. If it's very recent I'll just re time it, if it's a few thousand miles I'd always recommend a new belt, but the tensioners etc will be ok
there are historic issues with re tightening belts, but it's not so much of an issue as with a sprung tensioner you can't over tighten...
we put together a 200sx engine running 9:1 (higher than standard) a few years ago and made 283bhp at 13psi on a t28. Took it to 16psi with road mapping so dont know a final figure but it was batshit
take material from the head, make the chamber a bit bigger.
Usually ok to take a bit from the pistons. Most modern turbo'd engines run a lot higher CR than you'd think though. I'd be happy with 9:1
You can buy supertec pistons that give 8.5:1 on a duratec.
the brake pedal fault that comes up has NOTHING to do with the light coming on. I've not seen any clio that doesn't register the same fault. It's a non existant glitch in the matrix
Depends on how loud or quiet you want the exhaust to be? other mods that will compliment the exhaust would be a panel filter, matched inlets and a remap.

god no. Do it right and under sensible conditions you can improve on standard. It's only where you're driving hard and using more power that you'll use more fuel
Paying for a diagnostics plug in will save you wasting money on a lambda if it's working fine (need to look at live data, not codes!!) and if it is that then a new sensor will pay for itself in saved fuel. I've seen cars hit the 40's so it does sound like yours isn't right, unless you drive...
I charged £67.50 (1.5 hours) to fit one just today.
I do however have my special BADASS tensioner tool, without which (and if the tensioner isn't newish or being replaced) you'll struggle like buggery
In my opinion, take the opportunity to fit a new genuine tensioner kit
IMO this failure is actually down to the first incorrect timing up. Most likely the valves had been kissing the piston at some point, enough to weaken the friction weld on the stem, causing the second biggest cause of F4R failure.....the valve head dropping off
I use a Dell. I've had a very easy time with it until recently it's stopped recognising the original charger as genuine so wont charge the battery. I'd certainly have another, infact I may upgrade quite soon
it's there to reduce driveby noise. Part of legislation new cars have to pass. It's a small restriction to airflow so no down side to removing it, but dont expect a noticable gain
That's a valve seat. I wouldn't even bother with taking the head off, there will be nothing worth using left
the same bloke? honestly? have you read nothing thats been said at all?

got the heater switch on the hot setting on the dash?
I did one last year that had so much crap in the system, the rad was blocked solid. I had the jetwasher nozzle sealed to the rad outlet, and on full blast with nothing going through at all
