Pain in the arse for daily use. Effectively renders the boot useless. I really don't like the idea of my jack etc smacking me in the back of the head in an accident.
Biggest load of tosh. Are you seriously saying that the 172 has a livlier back end than a 205? And how does me saying the 205 has a twitchy back end, indicate that I'm saying the 172 handles better? The lively back end of the 306/205 is what makes them such great handling cars. Madness.
The info's in this thread dearest. Air is 78% Nitrogen. The idea of the remaining 22% making a significant (or even noticeable), doesn't make much sense.
Same hardware, but I believe the damping is slightly firmer on the Billies, and different springs. Icarus ran the Bilstein for a while, rated them very highly iirc.
Short people have good taste, fact.
(Please note I'm not saying short people taste good. I don't want to be responsible for someone eating Chris. Yes Tyssen, I'm talking to you)
Just shows how opinions differ. Burp felt the H&R's were way too soft on the rear. I felt they were pretty well balanced. There's no reason a well set-up coilover system should be outperformed by the oem units. In fact, I'd say they were badly set-up if that's the case.
Drive one! Massively different!
I'd drive both then decide which you prefer. Trophy owner's will say Trophy. 197 owner's will say 197. You're very unlikely to get an unbiased opinion.
The 197 will be nicer to live with, but pricier (worse mpg than a Mini Cooper S Works!!)
I'd imagine the...
If you go too low, bump steer becomes an issue. Mine's not exactly low, but the handling's great.
Great article from yoz:
