My mate had one back in 92 and it was rare then. From memory it was Silver and im pretty sure colour coded. It was based on the original Renault 5 shape as in the picture above but defin. looked nice ! He was rather pants when it came to driving it fast so never got to experience the performance...
Strange, mine came on yesterday ! while driving in heavy rain. has come on twice before (from coldstart) and then gone off the next day. Mine has only been doing it since I put a cat replacement pipe in. In my case it must be something to do with the lambda sensors taking readings that are...
Hi Ben, before I go for the whole cone and bonnet affair im going to try out my existing BMC which luckily has a 70mm diameter outlet going to the throttle body !. How cool is that. Just need to get that custom pipe with 70mm at both ends. What is the purpose of that small rubber aux. pipe...

Hi Scotsman. Ive got a MK1. Currently devil decat, magnex 6x4 and BMC cold air induction kit with bumper scoop. Putting out about 150 bhp @ the wheels if i take the average of two runs on the same rolling road. Estimated 180 bhp @ flywheel.
Have spoke to BenR quite a bit about this and what im...
Well ive got a cold air BMC kit and im not complaining. However I reckon Ford know a few things when it comes to tuning cars and am intrigued with they way they have done things on the rallye concept. So much so that im going to try it on my clio. Then what I will do is compare the BMC with the...
Apparently its not that hard to get 160 bhp out of a phase 1 uno turbo and if they weigh similar to 785kg then that equates to: 203 bhp/ton. That should fly.
I used to own an MG Metro Turbo a long time ago - only turbo car ive ever had. I know they dont have much cred. but it was fun @ the...
I think we need to arrange a weighbridge session near a petrol station. Fill the cars up. Bin the spare wheel on MK1 and MK2 as cup has no spare. Make sure no other non std. items on cars. Then weigh and compare!

The cone filter that BB tuning do is supposed to be a good one. The key is to shield these from heat. They are supposed to inhale more air than the closed induction kits although I swear by my BMC. The key with cone filters is to use a heat shield like cord has designed.
I will eventually be...
The 550 is a good bit of kit and works through that area of window. If you want more protection then something like a blue i will give you locations of fixed positions and a jammer will block the laser. The 550 will detect laser but you will need to shed some speed pretty quick if your are over...
Would be interesting to know where the blib receiver is located in the car to test for wire breakage, etc.
The starter motor would turn on mine but the engine wouldnt fire up. The small red light on the dash was flashing very quickly. Have changed to the spare key fobs - touch wood !

Bummer scenario.
Popped down renault dealer @ lunch to get some parts, on the way back I fill up with a full tank of petrol then drive back to work (2 minutes) and park the car up front first, surrounded by hedges in a little bay. Car is on a slight gradient, front being higher than rear...

I dont have the knowledge/experience to do the inlet manifold/ecu work so will need to get quotes and then get it done. Then once everything is ready need to get it all setup on the rollers. Have to speak to some firms and see what they can do in this area.
Hi Ben,
Will be getting all the work that you talked about done on the std. manifold to increase flow/volume of air. Have got a 70mm single throttle in mind which will complement the work on the inlet manifold. Then custom pipe from throttle body into air filter - am going to try something...
Good mechanic with ramps should be able to change the Decat pipe in around an hour. Induction kits are fairly easy to swap, you might need to remove custom piping if you fit it which could be a pain.
I guess you would probably need the ecu remapped again to take into account the removal of...
I was meaning who is going to invest their hard earned cash and bin of the single throttle body and fit a whole multi throttle body conversion.
I would but cant afford it so am going for the larger single approach. Just interested to know numbers of people who can afford/will go for the multi...
Discusses the Bosch monopoint injection system incorporating the Siemens controller.

Dont worry probably confusing myself having not fully looked at my throttle body physically. I will take a look in the daylight and then see if what I was thinking is still possible and if so will then try to reexplain it.
So looks like the best option is to try and source a larger throttle...
