Mines 57 plate 197, 67k on clock and no 'box issues to date. Pretty cheap fix if it does go out of warranty to be honest. Don't let it put you off buying one of the best hot hatches ever.
No mention of the mileage? also I suspect it will need the belts doing etc.
I'd budget 1k+ to get it into tip-top condition. Still a good price after that though.
You turned off kings street towards the leisure centre, I was just coming up kings street and turned the opposite way into the high street.
Possibly Harpham?
Dont hundreds of executive cars mercs etc have screens like this? How is it any more distracting than one of them or a normal windscreen mounted sat nav?
It's awesome on the iPad with such a huge screen! With it plugged into the aux port on the car running music, it fades the music down to give directions. Nice and easy to change songs etc.
Quick update guys. I managed a pikey fix with this. I have a smart cover on our iPad, and with it rolled back the iPad fits PERFECTLY in the wifes car just over the center air vents, it kinf of hooks into place witht he cover. A little bit of none slip matting and a rubber band and it stays in...
It wasn't meant to, I just hate it when an everyday hot hatch is treated like some super car, only being driven once a week, fortnight, year etc.
My comment on the rear brakes was purely because I've never heard any complaints about them, personally I think the 197 is over-braked from the...
No, please re-read my post. The only comment I said to ignore was the comment about it not being an everyday car. I'm pretty sure you'll agree that a Clio 197 is a car that can be driven every day, just like most other cars.
£1300 on tyres and servicing in 8k miles? How exactly?
edit, I've just realised you did more miles than that. The 8k was on that set of tyres! Doh.
Still seems a lot for a year though.
I think it can be down to bad cam timings? Some cars will have had the belts done now, and if not done properly it can lose power.
ignore the comments about it not being an everyday car, of course it is! It's a Renault clio FFS! Aside from low MPG (25-30mpg for me most of the time) it costs no...
There is a noticable increase in power at around 5k revs in my car......... Not sure why others don't get this?
Yes, a 1*2 will stick with you and probably even crawl past in a straight line, however the 197 is MUCH more capable in the bends. The brakes are better, the suspension is better, the...

Not sure if it's the sort of thing you are talking about or not though.
Just to make you aware, this isn't a 'Cup' as you have put in the title. The Cup was a different car. This is a RenaultSport Clio 197 F1 Team.
PS, Nice car! I'm guesssing this is your first hot hatch and you are young? If so, please be careful as these cars do compensate for a lack of talent -...
8mm?! Seems very small for a spark plug!
Spark plug socket sizes are different to normal sockets, the size on the socket refers to the size of the thread, not the nut size. So, a 10mm spark plug socket is actually a 16mm socket, a 14mm spark plug socket is a 21mm socket.
I would imagine you...
