    springs need advice

Search mate. I have Eiback springs on my cup and they're superb. Can't recommend them highly enough.

    Supersports too loud??

The sport isn't too loud, but it is quite annoying. It's very boomy at the wrong speeds (50mph and 70mph I find) not too loud, just a bit droney. I love the sound of it when driving quickly, but I wouldn't buy another one.

    Smoke over 5.5k revs

    what's lighter?

What are the mag ones like Fred? I'm thinking about swapping for my turinis... Lightweight ftw!
  5. J

    what's lighter?

How odd! I'd always dismissed them as a wheel choice because I thought they weighed too much...

    what's lighter?

F1 - 8.98kg 2118 - 9.62kg Edit- just noticed ali's picture..... It would seem the website figure is wrong... Same as what oz themselves say though? What size are they?? 15x7?

    Vmaxx or sportlines?

I was hoping to pick up some second hand coilies so I could hopefully sell them at the other end for similar money? I just want to avoid it looking like a tractor for the 6 months it will take me to get the cash together for some quality kit.

    Vmaxx or sportlines?

As above, I currently have prolines on my cup but due to me swapping up the turini's for some 15'' ultralegs, it needs to be lower. So my question is, am I better off getting some sportlines or buying v-maxx? I aim to buy some top end coilovers as soon as money will permit, but it will look...

Eibach Springs, not what people think?

They'd have to be stiffer to be that much lower really...
  17. J

    what lowering spring to use

Eibach's. I have them, handling is brilliant.

    Clio 172 Cup Lowering?

It says they're a 30mm drop, but the cup is already 10mm lower :) I've got probes and they're really good. Sportlines would be my choice if I was buying again though.

    Clio GT

So just spend a little less on the car to compensate for insurance? 197's can be had for ~£7000 now, that leaves you £3k to play with?

    Newbie In Southampton

Welcome mate! That's some seriously steep insurance.... Was that the cheapest you could find?! There's a few folks from nearby you on here, I'm sure they'll be along soon. My advice on your car would be body colouring :) makes a massive difference. Gets some pics of your car up chap.

    OZ Superturismos, what colour?

Just cover them in pva and go for a spirited drive ;)
  24. J

    OZ Superturismos, what colour?

White alloys look fantastic but they're a b**ch to keep clean and look crappy when they're dirty. I'd go anthracite or black myself. Or something lairy, green or orange with matching details. A few on here have done this and it looks awesome imo

Changing front/rear brake discs, sanity check!

I must have been lucky then. I just rested my calliper on the top of my wheel and lent on it a bit. Went in really easily.

Changing front/rear brake discs, sanity check!

I just used a spanner with a towel wrapped round it to push the pistons back in. But you will need a torque wrench.

    Power, the next step

Theres a job for tomorrow then :)

Will I regret not getting a 172 cup?

Compared to a 182 it does.
