I really like the idea of red leather recaros, but they're crap quality. Look really shoddy. And really, for the money they cost you could buy some nicer seats, and then you can have a seating position that actual fits a human being too.
Realistically, if both the cars were standard, from a rolling start the veyron would destroy to gtr. Fact. With some work on the gtr, who's to say.
So it's had a huge amount of money poured into it, or, it's not a genuine video. And I have to agree that it doesn't look like the guy in the...
I'm 21. No no claims at all as my girlfriend and I have shared a car until now. Paying £800 a year on a 172 cup.
And the 182 isn't a higher group because it's no faster than a 172. Why would it be more?
I found some on ebay, I'd have posted a link on here if i'd found a bargain website or something :)
Guy says he bought the pads and disks for a track day but had a serious engine explosion only 10 laps in so he's breaking his car for parts. Got the pads and disks for £50 :)
Anybody used mintex disks on a 1*2? I bought some with some ds2500 pads.
Are they any good or should I turn them into a pretty place mat and buy some brembo's?
Does anyone have any old engine mounts that I could have / borrow? I need to replace mine but I want to see if I can make some instead. I just need to use them for a pattern as I can't afford to have my car off the road.
Thanks everyone.
Agreed, but by the same argument, why put coilovers on it over the standard RS suspension? It's not appreciably better, just makes the car low. So style over substance.
Ktec coilovers? On a 172 cup?.... Interesting choice.
Sounds like the previous owner was more interested in style than substance.
Definitely buy some turinis ( but they are fairly hard to find ) and get some new coilovers on it!
I prefer a floor mounted pedal anyway, the bad positioning was just the extra bit that made it worth me designing one. The pedal position in Clio's is only tolerable if you have tiny legs and very long arms.
I'll be fabricating one for my own car anyway as all it will cost me is materials and a...
Original wheels for the cup are very hard to come by mate. They sell quickly and for good money too. Have a look through the 'Clio projects' threads for ideas on other wheels. Plenty of lovely examples in there.
Welcome to the forums though. Where abouts you from?
If you're not doing track days, then the trophy is pointless. Unless you have a particular need for recaros or you are overly concerned about depreciation.
Alot of the problem is that the throttle pedal is set quite a lot further back than the brake pedal on a Clio. Coupled with the poor throttle response from the fbw, it makes it very difficult ( for me at least) to use the pedals effectively.
Driving my friends new Ctr really decided it for me...
Any time mate. You've got our number, that's available any week day at a sensible time. ( it's redirected to my dad's mobile when we're not at the workshop)
Spot on. The weight savings you can achieve using titanium are phenomenal... Hence most of our business being in motorsport. We've had a lot of interest from yacht racing teams recently too. I always figured that as a much more niche Market, but it seems not.
Thanks very much for your...
Absolutely, mine's going to have a heavy engraving with blue enamel paint to match the car.
We can also get it laser etched in more or less any colour you wish.
I guess that's the beauty of getting bespoke parts, you're not limited by what the manufacturer thinks will look good.
My dad owns a company called south east customs. Based in Sussex and specialises in making bespoke titanium components. Mostly been for race cars/bikes/sidecars thus far but we're branching into the road car Market now.
We also do cylinder head gas flowing and porting. My dad built race engines...
Of course, especially with Brakes! I actually keep a pair of race boots in my car just so I don't have to wear my muddy shoes :) sad I know, but I love driving in them.
We have a selection of nuts and bolts which we produce ourselves, made from appropriate materials. Just to be 100% sure. No point putting up a great shed with crap nails eh...
I did several modules on material science as part of my motorsport engineering degree so I'm aware of titanium...
