Trophy is spotless, not a mark on it so it doesnt scratch the flat out blasting itch!
Then theres the dci80 for going back and forward to work and filling with car parts/dirty s**t! And the mk4 for my mrs 130mile commute and days out with the pram!
my cup is on standard map and never saw much benefit to taking it past 7000rpm, Trophy is on Fastchip 98ron and still isn't tailing off at 7500rpm but ive never taken it any higher!
ive got a mapped dCi 90 one, night and day compaired to the mk3 absolutely love it, not tried the TCE though, I heard they were a bit gutless, better than the 1.2 16v 75 though!
Renault parts specialist is doing it a bit cheaper than that lol, and obviously ive not ordered a cat, fitting kits, clamps, hangers and sleves as these are all in good condition anyway, its just a backbox and centre section I needed!
As long as you have the standard parts then id just leave it as it is, mine needs an exhaust so im going to buy a new renault one and keep it to the side and stick a cheaper sportex one or somthing on it for using!
For me after owning a 200 and various 172, 182s if you can afford the 200 then its a no brainer, its vetter in every way other than fuel consumption and of course straight line speed is debatable.
The 172 is a cracking car for the money and as daniel said i cannot think of anything else i would...
Cumbernauld are about to do the Turinis on my cup, word of mouth paints them as really good so we will see! if they do a spot on job ill get them to do the Trophy ones
ive got an 03 plate dci 80, mapped by a Bluefin hand held to somewhere around 105bhp 175lbft - I love it, paid a grand for it, 18 moths ago and probably 30k ago, it gets packed full of car parts, tools, flat pack furnature, stock for my shop, it tows cars. its done 150k miles and drives like...
Fantastic, I remember this build starting when I had not long got my 172, because it was my first fast car and first car that wasn't a banger, and I remember thinking it was fast enough and how could you start cutting up such an expensive car lol!!! ive since had about 10 RS Clios!
excellent to...
couldn't buy one over the trophy, the Trophy fixes all the issues with the original car.
have a search online at the reviews, slow gear changes, gearbox getting confused, not very exciting engine, bit bland handling. etc etc
the 220 trophy has the extra 20bhp, more torque, higher rev limiter...
We had one for a while specced up with all the options, i loved it until it had its belt changed, didnt realise at the time it was a similar setup to the 172, got the local garage to do it with genuine parts but never ran properly after that, was definately down on power, cracking wee engine though!
still not saw it in the flesh with the new wheels.
I notice macrae and dick have 3 white ones sitting out the front, each over 25k! good news for you lol
as above looks good at that height but will drive a million times better on factory dampers, mine has eibach prolines and sits about standard with good ride quality while still having reduced roll when you throw it in!
Between the gearbox and the subframe, on the underside near the front, visable from the passengers wheel arch if you remove the wheel and pull the arch linger back
na subframe is the same fitment, RS one does have the mounting for the 4th engine mount that the non Rs one has but you can just drill that anyway, I believe the RS one might be thicker from memory but I cant remember.
lower arms are interchangeable though I know that much!
yes they do but the mk2 onwords doesn't have the same setup as the mk1 clio/saxo/106 etc that are a pain to lower! they use springs instead to set the height
got a set of 182 arms, hubs, brakes, suspension, ARB for my DCi 80, just wondering do I need the driveshafts? I remember something about 172, cup, 182 all using different shafts is that correct or is it just the cup that had specific shafts?
what about ABS do all clios have the same amount of...
