Well s**t got serious today, it failed its MOT on 2 track rod ends, a cheap fix they say...
so I ordered
2 track rod ends
2 inner track rods
2 182 cup extra castor bottom arms
172 cup front dampers
182 cup rear dampers
4x ARB bushes
Eibach sportlines
new top mounts.
Spax adjustables with...
I made the swap, 200 is better in every way IMO apart from fuel consumption.
of course IMO, although if you look at my profile im now back in a ph2 172! bang for buck of course the 172 is miles better value but that depends on your situation, a year ago I could afford to spank that sort of cash...
65/80's are awesome with next to no lag, tuned up 80's fly around town!!!
I quite liked the laggyness on the 100 once mapped as it was followed with that big clutch breaking torque band! (mine did a clutch in no time lol)
mine was an absolute heap, but it was just a dodgey car.
id have another one no problem, what I will add is I agree with people above, the MPG vs performance is not good at all, HOWEVER... MPG vs fun? they are brilliant
no one will know what the engine will take, personally I wouldn't want to be pushing it past much more than just a simple remap will get!
I know there is a few guys in other parts of Europe running 140 odd bhp and 220lbft from these engines with just a strong map!
I find T1-R's are fine for lower powered cars, I ran them on my DCI clios and they were fine, just run a bit of a higher pressure than you normally would on your tyres and the soft sidewalls aren't so much of a problem.
they are priced as a budget tyre but are night and day better than most...
plans are keep it standard bar a decent suspension setup and 4 pots. even got a standard exhaust coming for it!!
ordering a full front end refresh for it every bush, mount etc
RS tuning remap is all you need on these, no need changing turbos or anything like that
I never got round to mapping mine just unplugged the MAF sensor on the airbox and it pulled much stronger, was smokey though lol
