I really rated the trw, any idea on part number? I done 3 trackdays on a set and they were excellent for a road pad. Actually worked loads better than the pbs i changed them for.
Updates.
Decided to fit the aem 400lph pump today as had it stock and easy enough to change.
Aem 400lph straight swap for 044.
Ran both pumps to refill the swirl pot as had to drain it into a container. Noted the aem pump sounded much quieter than the old bosch 044.
Started it up and ran up...
Echo what @Mr Underhill said above.
Im no pro driver and not even that quick but drive the circuit very similar to John.
Flat through jim clark esses and use all the apex on exit. Slight lift before barcroft, if you have full commitment through barcroft it gets sketchy on the brakes before...
I might just stick this pulse damper in as i have it, it should be easy to add in and can be removed if no good. A lot of tuners swear by them including the hp tuners lot and say it cures it, but when talking to Chris he said they are s**t
Im trying to avoid any rubber that might go into...
As above the cheap brembo are poor.
I had a set of trw pads in mine that were excellent for stock. Cant remember the exact part number sadly. Failing that go for a performance upgrade.
Thinking about it , wont be expensive to bosh a bit in for trial and error i guess. Only issue is it needs serious high speed 4th or 5th gear pull to do it, so ill need to run it to mexico i guess
Aye ive used earls -6an braided rubber hose before and agree its a b*****d to fit in the fittings. Pressure not a problem as its high pressure hose, Ill have a think about it as problem with it, is you cant monitor condition under the braid and ive seen a few fails due to it. Hoses deteriorating...
It has been suggested to run a mtr length if rubber hose coiled up in engine bay for testing.
Id prefer not to use rubber hose due to the quality available these days which seems to crack after 6 months. Id need nylon or stainless braided and its impossible to monitor condition under the braid...
With snagging done after clutch swap, i have started looking at the fuel system issues.
To recap - had this tuned June 2022 and had issues with the fuel system going lean due to fuel pulsation/resonance around 6200rpm for a split second on wastegate pressure, lean enough to misfire. This was...
197 poor on fuel in comparison to 172. A lad i know took one on a nurburgring trip with us, and in comparison to our mapped mk2 meg it was terrible on fuel.
40mpg is ok out of a 172. My trophy does 40mpg on a run on 980cc injectors if steady. Modern management and full sequential injection though!
Done a bit of work on my mates Amc ls turbo drag car.
It hit boost cut the other day in top gear when testing. Previous owner had started fitting a co2 boost controller and pipework bit all over the place. Piped wastegate up to turbo housing and overboost was cured but boost too low around...
Both my mk2 megs are still on dmf no issues, you will be fine with that setup for 280hp.
I think my r26 has same 26r clutch in as pedal is slightly heavier than original, its perfect for road driving.
Updates.
Spare couple of hours yesterday so made a start on the snag list. Yesterdays job was adjust tunnel heatshield, cutting it down at the front and wrap downpipe to stop resonation on overrun. The long and short of it, is the exhaust is a 3" system (custom made by btm/Yozza back in the...
Last time i had clutch judder on a car shortly after replacing it was faulty clutch. Also guide tube issues caused similar on another.
I dont think flywheel will be causing the issue as ive had one skimmed the same way without issues on my renault extra. I also had no choice as issues with...
Updates.
Great weather today so got 225 out to rinse the rest of the old fuel off as still had quarter of a tank in.
Big fish riding up front.
This took ages with normal driving. Finally got it to reserve and filled up with fresh 99. Found receipts for old fuel in glovebox.
7/23 & 10/24...
Set of snips or careful cut with a dremel.
Id not disturb the fittings off the heater as the o rings are most likely shagged with age. If the fittings need moving or weep after a bit of movement, new set of 4x 20mm x 2.5mm o rings sorts them out.
Small update.
Rear solid snr discs and ds2500 rear pads in stock ready to fit. Awaiting the front brembo hc solids to arrive in the next couple of days and will change brakes all round.
Ordered a set of brembo hc front discs from Autodoc after croft and they sent out a set of mitsubishi discs...
Small update.
250 used a couple of weeks ago in the decent weather.
Had rs monitor on and noted charge temps not great with the forge intercooler, lingering around 30-40deg all the time, better than stock intercooler but roughly 10-20deg above ambient which is poor in my opinion. So plan is...
