Update, did not find much wrong with it when looking and no noise since. Afternoon session at Croft again today and o/s outer cv is knackered, so must have been that causing the knock.
Seen some inspiration the other day too. Turns out that they done a 1.2 turbo model on the current Kangoo in Aus, not sure if it was a one off from Renault as a demonstrator as no real info out there about it. Looks alright though, i reckon the newer clio 220 edc might fit and meg rs280 lump, if...
Late one on the engine tonight as the new tappets turned up.
Engine is a bitza, 250 head on R26 bottom end with wossner pistons and pec rods. Slipped a set of 172 cams in whilst cam cover was off, be rude not to ;)
Not using vvt at the moment but stuck a fresh 172 dephaser and vvt solenoid...
Started cleaning a few bits up on the engine. Cam cover, breather plate and a couple of other bits got a once over.
Etch primed
Bedliner paint ftw
Oil filler cap looks a bit bright might need to tone it down a little
Planned to build engine up last week but was a lifter short. Start...
It is indeed based on a super5. Everything gtt related bolts straight on Theres a load of pics on my thread for my old Kangoo from the recent efi conversion & freshen up its had.
Felt good taking it back out on track again as not been out since 2016. It actually corners now with the quaife...
Indeed its a strange one, ill probably have the engine and box out over winter and will arrange a once over/inspection, not sure who rebuilt it last time.
Not ruling out cvs or mounts yet, i had a quick look earlier and my 1000 mile old vibratechnics rear mount is starting to delaminate so...
Will inspect the driveshafts again and see if any play. They were in good nick when i looked at them a few weeks back when i had the gearbox off, but never say never.
Will be disappointed if its showing issues already.
Evening all
Not clio related but same lsd so hope its ok to post.
Give my Renault Extra a shakedown at Croft on Bank hol Monday, first time ive used it in anger really with the quaife lsd. The gearbox is a rebuilt jb3 with diff fitted at the same time, approx 1000 miles on it, mostly low load...
Shez said she has all the pics from the advert, if you pm me your email address will get her to send them over.
Still waiting to seal the deal on the new one but should be coming at some point ;) Might move my gtt on whilst waiting.
Updates
Been looking for a 6 speed shifter for a Kangoo and they are quite thin on the ground as most are 5 speed. As its a dash mounted shifter needed the proper one really.
Sniffed one out on ebay in Latvia, off a lhd model. Was fairly expensive but stuck an offer in which was accepted. Took...
Glad its gone to a good home enjoy mate, a pleasure to do business with :) drive looks empty with a car missing ! Shez is buzzing that it is still called Bumble.
I always planned on sorting the exhaust out and giving the yellow interior bits a super clean but never got round to it.
Found some...
That V8 Cygnet looks mad, what did that do on the vmax?
Interesting to hear about the vbox accuracy, ive got one here, used it at Brunters years agoin my gtt 131mph vmax
Rear beam fitting time. Best check wheels fit i guess.
Ahh thats a no then, fouls the handbrake cable and the fecking centre of wheel fouls the caliper
Measured up the hub centre protrusion and its 20mm, so ordered 10mm slip on Pms spacers to suit meg2 and longer bolts to suit.
Wait a few...
As above id would be looking at the calipers to see if they are sticking, change fluid etc. Have the calipers got the anti rattle shims in? if yes bin them, and make sure the pads have a mm or so of play so they do not bind in the caliper when hot...
Updates
Meg 250 has been sold, its gone to a great home though. Little bit sad to see it go as had very light use off us in 2.5 years we had it. Already got eyes on another car to replace it, which will be epic ;)
A few pics of it all cleaned up, great looking car.
Thanks for reading!
Cheers mate, miss the old kangoo a little bit to be fair.
Mine was on cup 172 suspension up front. rear arch lips were rolled flat, gaz clio 16v shocks on the back, drum beam with 10mm spacers.
I initially had cup turinis on et38.5 from memory, caught so clearanced the arches, added -2.5deg...
I used to put mine on 2 wheels on the apex on track and no rubbing, apart from destroying the os bumpstop at Blyton on the large kerb at the ump  Was hilarious, miss flogging it round the track
Mine was ok on cup shocks and mark fish eibach springs, you need the bumpstops fitted or it will catch.
Best off spacing the front wing out a bit on the lower mounting point, and shave the arch lip. -2.5deg neg camber helped too, assuming you have plenty dialled in with it used on track.
