ok..the button is nothing to do with the computer..renault used the stalks in the r19's and clios..but never made the button useful for anything in the clio it may be something to do with the immobiliser..if anything i think it would be to disarm the immobiliser if it was set and couldn't be...

well for an update i went back out this afternoon...i managed to move the bonnet and rebolt it so it now open and closes fine again... the only thing now is the marks on the bonnet and bumper...both aren't to bad as i have touched them up but i still know there there. oh then noticed tonight...
