Correct procedure for understeer is let off slightly, and straighten up slightly. I hit a roundabout at about 20-25mph earlier, the back just let go, had it in quite a controlled slide, until i ran out of lock lol, ended up just sliding to a halt facing the roundabout. just thinking, f**k me...

well like i said from what your saying it sounds like fuel/ign cut, try changing the coils.

well with out being there its hard to diganose if its the box or not, im assuming by what you said is that the engine cuts out? then comes back in again?

I belive the cpoils are a common problem on these and have these symptons.

as above, you need to change it for the 1.6 one, it'll be running too lean and probably too much ign adavance so will be pinking its tits off.

con rod failure. or the piston has let go and emptied itself into the sump alloing the con rod to punch a hole in the block

tbh a mechanic would have picked up a wheelbearing.

if the car is still moving the diff will still be making a noise.

I dont have an emulator, instead i have the uch and key etc all wired up and tucked away under the dash top. Paul said I may need an emulator if i didnt have the uch etc.

the rails themselves arent actually very big, so theres no way of making them smaller, get a bucket seat and it'll be lot lower.

the stock manifold is good on 172's so its not needed. iirc its stainless anyway.
