burst the flexy pipe on my downpipe/cat on my 1200 16v AGAIN 2nd time in 3 months, using an uprated lower mount to minimise engine movement so dont know whats causing it other than the exhaust catching the odd speedbump or 2.
but i noticed the newer euro4 1.2 16v engines phased in arround 2004...
just had a call from the garage saying when they done the health check on the car the front brake pads were quite low so there changing from pads, front disks and rear pads for me. and its just had its oil and filter change.
the insurance was with admiral, payed up front in a 1 off payment so...
lol i hate the 8v ones, they dont get faster up the revs there just always slow, although i like the cable throttle on them lol.
my wee 1200 is a quick one compaired to other ones, once u get it going its not bad but trying to get it there is poor even when its got no seats etc in it lol.
i...
i payed £1200 this year on my 1.2 16v lol got my 1 years driving experiance and it dropped a good bit.
its 3rd party fire & theft, and i payed it all up front so no interest on it.
as for only being 18, thats not really a problem, im not an idiot of a driver on the road, ive had a year and a...
im so happy, bought a Iceberg Silver MK2 172 lastnight, 2003 model with 24k on the clock, serviced by renault at 12k and 21k, garage is doing an oil and filter change for me though before i pick it up, 1 years warranty, 1 years mot, 1 years free servicing.
just insured it for £1500 a year...
going to look at a iceberg silver mk2 172 tomorrow with 24k on the clock and was wondering what to look out for?
its a 2003 03 plate.
whats the cambelt on these due at, 5yrs 72k?
i know about the banging in first n 2nd gear and know thats not a big problem as ive fixed one before with the...
£500-£1000 depending on how you do it... not much less needs changed on this conversion than you would do on a 2.0 conversion!
not worth it for the extra 20bhp (1.6 would be the one to go for if you didnt want a 2.0 since its just the same as the 1.4 really but with 10bhp and more torque...
lol wouldnt outrun it, well down a backroad it would outrun or atleast stay with a standard 172 (well not sure about mk1 172 never driven one!) straightline it wouldnt be that quick but would be fun!
anyone got any idea how much power it would run with arround 20psi of boost? how do you adjust...
172 engines been done, no one as far as i know has supercharged the 1.2 16v.
i love how lightweight the car/ engine is, f**k i even lifted my new engine into the back of a van myself once the gearbox was removed!
imo my car has just enough power to have loads of fun down a backroad and it...
ive been though loads of different set ups on my engines and found out the following...
k-tecs relocation kit is the worst for power, it sucks in hot air from the radiator, the inlet length is FAR to long so the engine looses torque. pulling away on a hot day is really bad, car judders due to...
look at the first shape mini, everyone had one, they were far from rare, cheap to buy and run and id class a good nick one as a classic these days!
imo yes the clios will become classics. if i was to win the lottery i know id collect hot hatches and buy every single hot hatch that was ever...
lol lack of low down torque, u need a shot of my 1.2 16v the full car judders unless you launch it at 3,000rpm lol thats a lack of torque.
it has the narrowest power band in the world, 4,000rpm till 5,500rpm!
i always put mine on when im driving fast and hammering it round roundabouts so i can be seen better! and people dont pull out infront of me.
always thought it was the law that motorbikes had to have there lights on?
35mm springs will hardly even lower it, wont even be noticeable really. u find that with 35 or 40mm springs on non RS models, id only go 60mm
you SERIOUSLY need to sort that exhaust thats a mess, sticks out far to much. raised, brought back and cut into bumper would be nicer.
id get front...
apparently power of a 1.4, torque of a 1.6 and MPG of a 1.2!
if it was in a light MK2 shell it would be perfect, wont be to bad when revs get up in the mk3 tho.
decent exhaust, filter, remap, suspension & brakes it would be quite quick.
there Silverline like mine (well mine are adjustable damping Silverline X ones) so they wont rust
looks good, just low enough. id loose the vvt-i badges tho. like the new renaultsport badges
good stuff, ill need to get a set ordered :) is it possible to get your 1.2 16v big brake kit supplyed with these instead of the other pads (at extra cost of course!)
theres a little gap on the underside of the button that you can fit a screwdriver up to slide it up the back of the button and then lever it off, easy. mine came off perfect but i still threw it in the bin haha
one of my top mounts is fucked and making a funny noise so going to replace both but looking on GSF they only have the Mk1 clio listed, i know they use the same setup as far as im aware so was wondering if they were the same part?
also is there anything else worth changing while the coilovers...
if you read my original post you'll see im buying a 172, but i have my black dynamique sitting doing nothing as well as a supercharger sitting doing nothing and thought and still beleive it can be done cheaply, just not sure on the ecu side of things with these cars..
mine lasted to 115k when it got very stiff and a high biting point. then it started slipping and slipping and then by the time i managed to get a day off to change it, i had lost all drive lol. worth changing the cable at the same time.
