have a look at andys black one with PH1 172 OZ F1 Cup wheels on it on coilovers, F1 Cups suit the MK2 Ph1 cars.
if you cant afford coilovers put the -60mm apex kit on it, i loved mine.
ive got 2 1.2 16v engines actually lol 1 spare 1 fitted, but like i said im not wanting to spend much on this car just thought it would cost maby less than £500 to supercharge it (not inc mapping) just it seems like more hastle than its worth
so realisticly it would need standalone management?
what about going back a step in time and ditching injection for a set of motorbike carbs?!
dont want to spent any big ammount of money on this just fancy doing something stupid with the 1.2 engine since its a nice wee car thats lying about...
actually now that i think of it, this would need a new inlet manifold/throttle body as the standard manifold is shite and then cable throttle to go with it wouldnt it?
think the rrp for the clutch from renault is £60+vat
fittings the expensive part, its not hard just time consuming and wouldnt bother trying it yourself if you have no or limited mechanical skill/tools.
managed to "aquire" a supercharger from a Cooper S and was just going to sell it but was thinking of supercharging my dynamique when i get my 172 next month as the dynamiques coming off the road.
now as far as im aware i would need the following to make this possible...
custom bracket to...
alot of it my chioice but a lot of it isnt, theres probably £1500 of stuff ive missed on that list
2002 12 16v - £1700
new engine - £150
new gearbox - £100
cambelt kit - £80
driveshaft - £100
gearbox oil - £25
oil changes every 5k miles for 25k miles @ £40 a go!
2 sets of spark plugs £cant...
yep i do, on my standard dynamique wheels, just waiting on my wheel spacers coming to get teh wheels on the car though!! ill hopefully get pics for you tomorrow or the next day!
i looked into it and knew everything involoved just didnt have the time to get it done which is what put me off, and needed car back asap for work so was a case of..
blew up thursday, engine out donnor car friday morning, engine out mine friday afternoon, new engine in mine friday night...
ive got a lightned and ballanced bottom end for mine and a reprofiled cam from my spare engine, just never got the time to fit it n give it a go.
i knew it would make hardly any difference but i was bored/curious and had a spare engine and its cost me nothing really lol.
aye deffo, mine is ok in the wet with the Eagle F1s on the 15s but the kumhos on the 16s are dangerous with the hard setup, brakes traction in 2nd gear when you catch a bump under hard acceleration which is VERY scarey for a 1.2
never tried the bilsteins, heard a lot of reviews on them (not for the clio but just in general) and all seem to be decent.
so standard seems to be the best about? what about standard dampers and eibachs?
depends on the road really, on bumpy roads like a lot of the back roads i prefer our standard dynamique as its more planted, mine bump skips but thats possibly due to the 16s or the fact its too low.
on track and smoother more normal roads and especially fast sweeping bends then i prefer mine...
^you need apex my friend, cant beat it for the cash! wish i hadnt bothered with coilovers for mine, it handles better and looks lower but deffo not worth the extra cash!
not touching LEDA after watching the progress of the 172 cup in PGTi
like the sounds of the eibach's and Koni Adjustables as i like my adjustable damping on my 1.2, even though i find it hard to get it perfect for every day driving and am always playing with it!
but also like the sound of...
on bumpy roads my mums standard dynamique handles better than mine (probably due to my temp. 16s thats ive got on while my 15s are getting new tyres) but on normal roads mine is MUCH better
wish i hadnt been a shite bag and had converted mine, i was scared to attempt it lol so just put another 1.2 in it which was piss easy and 2.0 couldnt have been much harder!
ive heard that so was thinking about it, one im looking at has had -40mm springs on it though so was thinking of new dampers all round. just think they sit a bit high standard, but ive still got the 1.2 for lowness lol
looking at getting a ph-quick in july and already thinking about what set-up to go for.
now coming from a coilover'd 1.2 16v i do like my FK's but dont find them that much better than the Apex -60mm kit that was on it before.
i dont plan on spending mega amounts of money on this car but when...
nothing wrong with an expression, thats what ive got lol.
less is more, auto wipers and auto lights are for gays, thats why renault brought out the 172 cup ;)
mine has no optional extras and came with the electric/heated mirrors, time delay interior light, rear speakers, split rear bench...
yep they fit.
imo the V6 spoiler only suits V6 clios, doesnt even suit the trophy. id get the cup spoiler thats nicer, although on a black one i think a colourcoded dynamique/172 spoiler looks better due to the tinted rear brake light
hahahahahahahahahah thats class, mk3 clios are high enough from the ground as it is, never mind with they big fukers on it.
id love my mum or girlfriend to get that, just so i could take it out a crooze dressed like a poof.
900kg, 120bhp, thats about 135bhp per ton, not far off 172 performance (150bhp per ton-ish i think, and would sound mental, i dont think it would be piss poor.
