just go for a 1.6 16v clio mate, 1.8 corsa will be faster straight line but handle pish compaired to the clio! so to be fair on the right road the clio would be faster in my opinion
nice car mate, keep they wheels they suit the car the best in my opinion, get a set of 195/50 or 195/45 tyres on it and if you've only changed the springs do the dampers too, will be a go kart and handle brilliant.
colours cyclone blue matey, nice colour especially when detailed
dont bother...
true but the gearbox mount wears out very fast on them, ive been through 2 already (well bushes not actual mount) im still on the origional top mounts after 130k and they still arnt showing any signs of wear yet
lol i read the lexus lights comment in your first post and just thought "here we go, poor boy" lol
anyway.... lexus lights spoil the look of the car taking a nice looking car and turning it cheap and tacky, same goes for silver wiper blades and silly silver ariels!
lower it on the wheels its...
suspension set up standard on them is good but no where near as good as aftermarket stuff, well some aftermarket stuff, stick a set of 60mm springs on it and likely it wont be any better but do it properly and it will.
nice car though but only 1 thing is get the sport badge to fuk!
Welcome always nice to see more scottish people on here, get yourself along to the next meet if you fancy a laugh!
how much is it lowered by and what suspension is it on?
id loose the induction kit though, will be lossing you power
if you can afford it go for FK Coilovers.
if you cant or dont want to spend the money go for Apex -60mm thats what im using and many others on here.
going for FK Konigsports next tho (the adjustable ones, not the fixed damping highsports)
my 1.2 clutch was £60+ vat (got it for £40+vat with discount from renault parts guy)
one thing id recommend is a new clutch cable £30 or something and that made the clutch pedal so light it was unbeleiveable! and also got rid of the creaky squeek noise i had when pressing the clutch
are you...
ive got a halfords calcium one with a 4 years warranty, cost me £50 or something but deffo worth it car starts really quickly and my 5 channel amp + uprated speakers sound twice as good as they did on the dying renault battery!
id want a phase 3, 2004> for that price (even tho the phase 2 is better looking lol)
only way id pay that money for it would be if it had climate control, xenons, no parking dings or scratches and full service history
dont you just love k-tec, first they gave us the most hideous mk2 grille ever then the stupid design induction kit that kills torque lol
not to my taste but looks ok mate seems to have a good bit of cash spent on it!
anyone got any feedback or opinions on these exhausts?
was looking at ordering the stainless manifold, front section (with decat) and possibly centre section with backbox for the 1.6 16v
are these ok from a performance side of things or is there anything out there thats better suited to this...
i should have probably bought the 172 off you and sorted everything needing done over a year or 2 ready for me being able to insure it!
looking good though mate, blue 1.4 was awesome especially the photo with ur birds car, wheels suit it so much!
yeah read the thread mate gave me a bit more inspiration to get it going lol.
hope to have it going by end of feburary just waiting on more funds coming in :)
loads of people keep telling me it wont be quick, but they are the same people who refer to a standard saxo vts or 106gti as "rapid" 1.6 16v is a pretty underestimated car, and when using a raised rev limit 0-60 will be a bit quicker even on a standard engine. get it running 130-140bhp and it...
£995 + vat for conversion kit, fitting done by myself so no labour costs.
manifold £300, decat £100, viper £250, headwork £300, internal work ive not had a quote for but all parts will be removed and refitted by my mate so also cuts labour costs down.
in total might come to about £3,000 once...
lol a hammer is one tool you shouldnt take near a french car!!!! hehe only kidding, as said above stick a bit of copper slip on them this time and makes it easyer next time.
expression only went up to 1.4 16v, so no 1.6 16v expression.
no other model worth going for than the dynamique apart from the very rare/special initiale model
a good driver knows his limits, if you understand the differences in driving conditions, how a car behaves in a corner/roundabout etc then you should be ok.
the only thing you need to watch for is dont judge corners by gears, where your 1.2 goes round a corner flat out in 4th (100mph) a 172...
to be honest not that much difference in the boxes performance wise to make it worth while going for 1.2 box if i have to change it 6 months later anyway so will probably get the correct box for it
